I understand your view about the consequences. As I’ve posted previously, what we saw in the video probably happens every night at that Bali club.

But I’m not sure how our Pies Board will take this. It’s been a difficult 18 months and there will be a heightened sensitivity around this.

Jordy’s timing probably couldn’t have been worse either - not that I think he cares much about that - coming off his cameo performance in NYC last October. It all adds up.

VP i think you have described a lot of the concerns around boorish, entitled behaviour very well. However on a more individual level how do you feel about this woman being thrust into the limelight in an alarming way and so many questions being asked about her? She has felt the need to come out and defend herself even though she has done nothing wrong. Seems no consideration from the media for her.

I saw something which gives me a feel for how she may be going a few years ago. The sister of my sons girlfriend was at a concert and climbed a wire fence and while coming down snagged her shorts and there were apparently some gymnastics of sorts performed for her to get off the fence but she got down sans shorts. Someone in the crowd videoed it and a short while later it was up on social media.

She was initially amused to see that and quite happy to see the views it got, maybe 500 over the day. However it got more viral over the next 24 hours and was soon in the 1000s then 10000s and may have got into the 100000s. My son told me she became increasing upset and felt exposed by so many people seeing her down to her underwear. She had no control as this thing spiralled. Thats probably small change compared to what Remy is seeing now. Maybe she wont feel exploited but surely the press at least should speak to this and acknowledge they are invading her privacy in the search for clicks. I know they wont.

Before we arrive at the sentencing phase (& factor in prior history/offences)…don’t we have to determine if he has actually done anything wrong?

Surely that process stuff would be a waste of time. Shouldn’t we move straight to the hanging. Just in the name of efficiency. We can issue an apology on page 49 of a daily if we’re wrong.

GC, there’s a lot of attention on the girl, and that makes me uncomfortable. But counter to that is the fact that she originally posted the video to an account which - according to what I’ve read on here - already had about 15k followers. She is apparently an influencer who courts attention.

But saying that, I’m not critical of the girl. I hope she’s not having regrets, or worse, and I hope she can get on with her life when this dies down.

She didn't have to put the video online. She could always have edited out the contentious breast revealing incident if she wished. If she is going to hang out with De Goey, she can't be too afraid of a bit of publicity. I doubt that she is a shrinking violet type if De Goey is her BF.
