Better start getting used to the reality that you are not getting 2 first rounders no matter how much you huff and puff like your club has in the media. Hasn't it been fascinating to watch?

Lions quietly going about the business while Doggies, Power, Pickering all making plenty of noise in the media.

I felt Pickering was putting pressure on the Dogs, not the Lions

I got the impression he was calling on Dogs to stop the PSD posturing…just get to the table and make a deal

Matt Rendell called them out for being hypocrites on Dunkley v Lobb (“can’t have your cake and eat it too”)

Perhaps a deal has been agreed and this is all melodrama for content…however, if Dogs are holding up other trades over a few spots, then the pressure is going to really ramp up on them on Monday…

Is Sam Power going to join Dodo and FeatherBell on the ‘don’t bother’ list?

What a surprise Pickering would be putting pressure on the dogs when he currently looks like a ****ing idiot for not being able to accomodate his own player in getting them to a suitable club.

Also imagine using anything Randell says for your argument lmao

No one ran anywhere though, people are asked to comment and they give an update. We want 2 first rounders and we'll deal, it's a consistent message.

That article doesn't sound anything like "we want 2 first rounders and we'll deal".

Sam Edmund is mates with Pickering and we can see where it came from. All about Dogs emotions and feelings.

"The Dogs were staggered", "The Dogs are irritated", "The Dogs last night sat down and are now committed to getting nothing in return if it gets to that. Dunkley would go into the open market.".. :tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy:

So,according to that little snippet independents at large value him somewhere between 10 and 20. We've offered well above that. I believe Dunkley is worth a mid first round pick. The fact that it has taken this long for the Bulldogs to drag this one out is purely for their fans.

Yeah the general consensus seems to be saying that our F1 is probably around the mark. + 21 should be more than enough to get it over the line.

Pickering is panicking as hes looking pretty foolish right now.

PSD or extend with the Dogs looking likely

Seems more like clickbait to get oppo fans worked up.

We've wanted 2 firsts for him for over 2 seasons now.

We’ll just be bidding on Fletcher at 12 instead
If your list management strategy includes bidding on players to "spite" the other team go for it. Do a Dodoro/Essendon type list management. A pretty fast track route to mediocrity awaits.

It's the fact that Brisbane wanted the Dogs to send them back 2 second round picks back is what caused this impasse in the first place (a totally understandable position)

Unless The Lions soften/change their stance , they won't get Dunkley.

And I have zero sympathy for the fact Brisbane need points for Father Son/Academy picks, you traded your pick 15 out of spite.

The arrogance and pomposity of Brisbane's list management team here is absolutely pathetic and unreasobable in opinion.

Walk him to the PSD Doggies, stick to your guns.

Hahaha how do you take extension with the dogs out of that? Clearly says he doesn’t want to be at the dogs lol.

Pickering could quite easily have gone the other way and said Brisbane are undervaluing Dunkley and need to come to the party. But instead, clearly from his point of view Doggies are overvaluing and acting petulant. Majority of neutral media pundits widely accept a first and second is enough to get it done.

Whatever happens, Dunkley will definitely not being playing for the dogs next year. Question is, what other team he ends up at.

No, we traded out pick 15 to pick up points for our F/S players when we realised we couldn't get it from the Dogs in the Dunkley deal.

For the cost of downgrading pick 15 to 21, 46 to 48 and Tom Berry (who was close to be delisted) we added picks 36, 38, 55, 56 and Geelong's future second and fourth.

Which works out to be an additional 1105 points to what we had initially, equivalent to ~pick 16.

Dogs
This is what we have at present 21, 34, 35 (compo pick), 36, 38, 48, 55, then 56 & 73 the Lions will use for Gunston (maybe 55 & 73)

I imagine the Lions are trying to put up 21 + one of our other picks to secure for arguements sake pick 18 or 19 from GWS
As long as we don't lose many/any points in the deal

Then we can offer F1 & 18/19

Nah, we definitely did it out of spite. Because we don't want Dunkley trade to go ahead successfully and we want to make it as difficult as possible for ourselves. Mental, one eyed argument.

He may not have a choice as I doubt he wants to risk it in the PSD.

Extend a year and try again next year as a restricted free agent.

That would get it done imo and we'd all be happy.

Like it. Id even offer late picks back to give you a few more points.

If that's the offer I think we would have no issues accepting that, its any other picks going back that is the issue. That's where the angst has come from with that first offer.

He’s not coming back to the dogs. He has requested to get out of there twice, and his manager has just come out and said he is not going to be there next year.

If an employer disallowed my transfer to another place of work, not once but twice, zero chance I’m walking back in there. Absolutely delusional thinking. Especially if my contractual obligation to that workplace had expired.

I think it’s time for the Doggies’ supporter base to wrap their heads around the reality that no matter what happens, he isn’t returning.

You'll end up finding that other first rounders so he won't have make any tough calls.

You've committed a lot so you'll get it done.

The thing is the first offer was early in the week. The Lions could not wait, so moved on for the time being

Since then we have gained the equalivent in points to pick 14/15. With only the loss of fringe player Tom Berry

So no real need to request something back

Lions should just give them a bag of schmackos it might calm them and make them more rational
