KM, is there any way to see footage of any of these players? I've looked around youtube but cannot find much unless its on boyd. Is there a website with the games recorded ?

Love your work btw. epic effort.

Tipping you have seen a bit of the Ranges this year Knightmare?

What are your thoughts on Connor O'Sullivan?

Either his stats are misleading or he has had a very good year?

Would love to know more on the 106cm Ranges CHF.

Wins a bit of the ball for a big guy and has plenty of hitouts to his name.

The Ranges are a good team but I don't focus any more time on them than the next team. They've mostly got a glut of draft incredible smalls which why they are such a strong TAC team as opposed to say the Geelong Falcons who just about take on the rest of the state with the talent they have on that list.

O'Sullivan isn't one I've watched super closely.

His numbers probably look ok because he's playing as a ruckman. He's not a key forward and a non factor up forward. He's certainly not the marking presence of a Boyd or Apeness and isn't a goal kicking threat.
He's more a ruckman at 196cm, 92kg but he's not going to play that at the next level. He's that year older and not draft relevant as more a no.2 ruckman or key defender.

AFL.com will hopefully put some videos up over coming months as we draw closer the draft but otherwise footage is as someone who isn't a club insider very difficult to come across. It's rarely publically available which as someone who lives and breaths footy and wants to watch as many games as possible of every competition is frustrating.

Knightmare apologies if this has been covered and I've missed it but curious as to where you think Kurt Heatherly would be drafted this year if not already tied to Hawthorn? played his first game for the season on the weekend after having both hips operated on.

Knightmare,

Where does Dayle Gartlett look like going? Chances of him coming to Collingwood? He is exactly what we need I think!

Hi Knightmare

Interested to hear more on Conlon.

There is talk that the Saints will look to get in the hunt for pick #1 to get Boyd but Im wondering if we would be better served hang onto the rumored pieces (McEvoy/Armo/Dal/Pick#3) and to look at Conlon with our 2nd pick instead. Would this be a reach?

I also wonder about his ability to play around the ground. Is he more a lead and mark FF/Ruck type ala Kosi/Dawes or can he find the footy further up the field? Im also wondering if you think he has the potential to play down back, like so many junior forwards before him. Would this be a waste of talent? Is he capable at all?

Thanks :thumbsu:

I believe Conlon was talked about as a top 10 pick last year before he was injured so on talent he would be a good get with an early second rounder.

He played well against Calder Cannons on Sunday from reports. He's be a chance to go in the national draft if not alligned with a club without being a certainty.

I think he's a good one. I really liked him coming into the season and he's a chance to develop his game if given the time as a guy who can already play a strong standard of footy down back.

Garlett doesn't look like an early selection as dominant as his form has been. I'm not convinced Dayle the person is someone clubs will look at and say "he's going to fit into our club culture" which is the issue from this party boy.

Essendon have expressed interest but there are numerous clubs who still from what I hear are outright saying no. So he could go anywhere from the 3rd round or possibly even go completely undrafted again for all we know.

I would have taken the chance on Garlett last year but with so much uncertainty surrounding that Collingwood senior group with some in house disharmony I haven't sensed in some time he's a guy you might consider because of his talent and evaluate his personality again to see if he is a fit but I certainly wouldn't lock him in as a selection as good as his immediate impact and production will be in the 1s.

Conlon is a good one. Athletic. Draft range an unknown but should go somewhere 1st - 3rd round. Had he not been injured this year he had that opportunity to go first round so you may if he's available 2nd/3rd round get some real value. Can play some ruck but I like him most as a key forward with that where he has played his best footy. Certainly one to investigate further if looking for someone of his type. He could find a role as a no.2 ruckman who mostly of his minutes up forward. I haven't seen him down back so until you see that you just never quite know. As an athletic tall it could be something he could do, but I wouldn't use an early selection on someone who only may be able to successfully fill a role, I'd rather take someone I know can play that role and play it well if looking for a key defender.

I'd wait till next year in St Kilda's situation for that high end key forward. I can't see St Kilda rebounding with a monster year next year and with a number of quality KPPs available early draft next year the opportunity will be there to add a top quality key forward then or possibly a key defender you may not need to trade the house to make it happen as you would for Boyd who GWS will request a club pay a premium for. Then again whenever you have that chance for a potential franchise quality key forward which Boyd looks like he could be you take that a shot at the guy.

Knightmare, as a Melbourne supporter I would love Zac Jones as he is Nathan's brother and the exact sort of player we need but after being named all Australian and Vic country MVP would he last to our 3rd selection? Would he be a good pick in the early 20's?

Definitely would last to your 3rd. 40-60, more of a defender than a midfielder imo. Might want to wait for KM's opinion.

Knightmare was just wondering who you see as the top
5 talls for next years draft in your opinion?

Hugh Goddard, Patrick McCartin, Sam Durdin, Jesse Watchman, Tyler Keitel.

Jones may be available 3rd round but if you want him for sure that 2nd rounder is probably necessary.

In the early 20s he'd be a safe pick and while it's higher than I'd pick him it may not necessarily be such a poor selection.

Hey Knightmare, what are your thoughts on Lachlan Weller?

Weller is a good one and one of the better talents coming out of Queensland. Could feature in the 2nd round if next years draft happened tomorrow. I'm interested to see whether he can continue to improve. At this stage he's one of the better midfielders in a relatively weak midfield group for next year.

As a regular at Ranges games I can can provide feed back on Connor O'Sullivan.Played last year as a key defender and has played between CHB & CHF early in the season. But ranges have had the luxury of playing him as a high CHF/ruckman.Very mobile and very good below his knees.Plays the role differently from most tac cup ruckman.Wins his own footy and gains a lot of possessions.Would like to see him take more contested marks and kick goals, but very rarely plays deep in forward line. With a forward line of Boyd (when available),Apeness & at times McStay there is plenty of marking options.Overall he has had a terrific season who has gone under the radar.Looking forward to the finals.Hope this provides some insight.

Knightmare, Any feedback on Jacob Dragovich - South Fremantle Colts and Brent Edmonds from Perth Colts they are clear 1st and 2nd in the WAFL Colts Coaches award. The winner of this Award last year Dean Kent was drafted to Melbourne, a couple of other boys in the top 10 were also drafted.

What does Lloyd Perris coming through the Swans academy mean? Do Sydney get dibs on him or something or what?

Both Dragovich and Edmonds have been big improvers over the second half of the season.

Dragovich is still another year off getting drafted but as a small midfielder if he continues to improve his game he has the opportunity become something and get drafted next year.

Edmonds is someone who was draft age last year but again over the second half has really stepped up his game. He's a forward/midfielder with elite endurance and is really finding plenty of the footy. Just has a light body and having only played colts it's unclear how that stacks up against stronger competition until we see it because in the colts he's just outrunning everyone with so juniors who can run all day as Edmonds can.

Yes. Sydney do get him if they want him.

As I understand it, it will work similar to the Father Son system.

Knightmare thoughts of the Collingwood F/S prospect Kelly?

Might be playing VFL this weekend

Kelly is a chance to get drafted. Tall, athletic outside type.

The VFL is his trial so it will be interesting to see how he goes. He's in with a chance.
