I view the weekly replays of the VFL/SANFL/WAFL weekly games so I see roughly as much of each team.

As it turns out Broomhead is just a better talent than any of Carlton's young players. He just impacts games on another level.

I really worry about Menzel's knee, I don't see Menzel having the same scope to develop into a midfielder and Broomhead's numbers are better while also being just as damaging.

Watch for Broomhead next year and I'm more than happy to revisit the topic.

A few may not use as many picks - hard to see Carlton as an example using pick 98 and many of those picks in the 80s likewise I doubt will be active but overall a good indication of which clubs have how many selections.

That's what I thought would be the case. That's O.K.
It's impossible to track the development of every kid once they hit an AFL environment.

It's odd that people just don't seem to rate any Carlton players and that's their entitlement but I'm pretty happy for:

Menzel, Cripps, Buckley, Docherty, Byrne, Sheehan, Jaksch, Giles and Holman............because I've watched them.

Only thing he can do is inside. Menzel is good but not top 50. Holman looks like a 15 year old. Giles will get delisted next year. Byrne you can quote this on me will go back to Ireland. Sheehan is a non flashy version of zach touhy.Docherty is solid. Buckley very injury prone. But could become a player.

Fwiw Id have Menzel well inside the top 37 (I haven't seen the draft kids so a top 37 from 2010-2013 is more relevant for me). Broomhead ain't anywhere near it. And stringer averaged more touches and kicked 22 goals in the last 9 games than Broomhead. Younger, bigger, faster. I don't get the Broomhead thing at all.

But Broomhead has gone from 27th best player in his own draft to top 30 in 5 drafts due to VFL form according to Knightmare.

Taylor, Hrovat, Miller in that order.

Lewis Taylor is the most talented and most explosive.

Hrovat as an accumulator is equal to Taylor but doesn't have as many tricks.

Miller isn't productive on the same level with his intrigue stemming from his strength over the ball.

You might want to watch some of Broomhead next year and the topic can be revisited. I'm exceedingly confident in my evaluation of Broomhead. He was probably in Collingwood's last month of the season a top 3/4 list player if you can get copies of those game tapes.

With Patton as long as he recovers I don't see a knee limiting him. He's not getting any smaller. But I am assuming he gets back to full health.

Menzel with his history, having LARS and seeing his brothers history. I'm exceptionally concerned about his potential longevity in the game.

I am a Broomhead fan though

I'm not spending all day going through the rankings going for perfection and as with the 50 before if I spend more time on it I'm sure it would be more correct. It's just an approximate for fun thing.

Stringer coming from so far back and already showing he can rip games apart against top 8 teams. His power and acceleration were all back in the latter part of the season. Most on the dogs board would have him ahead of Macrae and Libba, let alone guys like Lycett, Witts, Broomhead (???) and Gleeson.
