Sure.

You're not a critical thinker. Most people aren't.

Most people are sheep.

We had a year where everything went wrong and still won 11 games. We also lost 4 games by under a goal.

But it is what it is. If we're shit, the sheep will be right. Let's see.

Btw, I can understand a Freo supporter thinking as you do. I would too. We are genuinely your bitch.
Best of luck I guess

Lever and May aren’t what they used to be and regularly injured

Surely Big Maxy starts slowing down , he’s 32

Losing Neal Bullen and having a disgruntled Oliver and not much of a forward line doesn’t bode well either

Lever and May are fine when not injured. Not just fine, they're great.

Rucks play until they're 35 and unlike 95% of footballers Max loves preseason.

Neale-Bullen is an A-grade citizen and a C-grade fumbler. Admittedly, I've never been his greatest fan. Just a role player who we told to look around for another club post 2020.

If you think ''disgruntled'' players can't perform I really am talking to a nuffie. His fitness, or fatness, is far more of a concern.

Oliver, Petracca, Gawn, May, Lever, Fritsch, Viney, Salem, Langdon, Melksham is a very solid group of senior players. Obviously fitness is the key.

23 and unders: Pickett, Rivers, van Rooyen, Windsor, McVee, Bowey and others (Turner, Moniz-Wakefield, Howes, etc) is also very solid.

Add two top 10 picks in this superdraft and there's every chance the Dees bounce quickly.

As for players bailing ? If we have a great year they won't be going anywhere. If we don't they're still contracted for multiple years and will do what we say.

I get the sheep will predict a terrible year for the Dees, but astute thinkers may think otherwise.
bottom 4 finish coming up under simple simon.

wouldnt be calling into question others ability to think critically with how much youve gassed up a team that hasnt won a final in 3 years.

On Gettable they reckon to watch out for Pickett, was apparently trying to get to Fremantle up until the last 24 hours.

With his family/mates in Narkle and Bolton already over here, that may help.
yeah, no doubt he will come up in trade talks. It'd be devastating to lose him. He's worth 2 first rounders pretty obviously. But the other name that came up was Judd McVee which would be equally as damaging. And with McVee you just know that he's rated so much more highly internally than probably externally. But McVeewould set us back a long way. It'd be like losing Scott Thompson to Adelaide who became a 300 gamer.

No doubt he'll try to get out again but if Dees are anywhere near challenging they'll hold him to his contract....again. But if the wheels fall off next year they should let him go.

Dees could do a Richmond and get an absolute bounty for Pickett/Petracca/Oliver. Would be a great starting point before Tassie comes in

Yeah they could try but early indications are the draft pool is much weaker and more compromised next year. Plus they've already given their 1st rounder for next year away.

I think they'll try hold on for as long as possible and probably top up in an effort to get back up there. In reality I think the window has closed for them for a while while they reload.

Players do sometimes get held to their contracts after exploring a trade - but when's the last time it happened two years in a row? Generally the second time a player seeks a trade they get it

No he didn't, it was stated multiple times he never actually requested a trade.
Well at the very least, it's now public knowledge that he wants to be at Fremantle, he may not have requested a proper trade, but he still wants to come to us.

If the Dees dont return to the finals mix in 2025 I think this gets done, Kozzy to Freo.
They have 3x first rounders to use next year so its not like they dont have the capital to get it done.

Taking off my west coast hat here, I think Kozzy is a much better for Freo than Warner, and I think Freo know theyre probably a bit behind in the Warner chase anyway.

Dees will have done a rebuild without ever really falling down to the bottom of the ladder over a few years since losing Jackson, not an awful result for them tbh.

It's obvious that west coast fans want kozzy to Freo to happen

They know that chad wants us, it's in their best interest for us to use our capital on Kozzy
Hey dont out me like that 🤫

For real I genuinely do think Kozzy is a better fit, as was/is Bolton than Warner

Ill Allow It GIF

I mean honestly I'd say most of our fanbase have gone off Warner anyways, if Pickett's available he's the better choice.

If Pickett and Warner are available but you can only have one, I'd say most clubs are taking Pickett, us more so with our lack of small forwards.

I purely want Warner so you guys dont get him. Pickett really does make a lot more sense

Like Petracca and Oliver, Pickett will leave if and when it suits the MFC.

Pickett is contracted until 2027. I do think he'll finish his career in the West, but I'll be amazed if we trade him next year. Wait until a year before his contract expires, which will be the end of 2026.

Melbourne finished top 4 in 2021, 2022, and 2023. Last year was the year from hell and they still won 11 games and lost 4 others by under one goal, including Brisbane in Brisbane.

The lazy groupthink is that our window is closed, but in reality we've lost no-one of note (Neale-Bullen) and could easily bounce back next year with a (very) favourable draw and a good run with injuries.

And if we do bounce back and win finals players will be far more gruntled.

But if Pickett does go next year with two years to go on his contract, another two first round draft picks (on top of 4 in the last 2 years) wil help salve the wound.
