I hope that is it - have not been as pleased about an injury since the CFC fitness bloke busted Gary Shaw's shoulder in 1984.

Goodbye Licca - you are finsihed - go fly planes or feed the poor in Africa or do lanscape gardening.

bye the bye he is probably no good at any of them

He is undoubtedly the worst Copeland trophy winner I have ever seen - even including Wes Fellowes.

Had a gutful of him

If I was allowed to post a thread I would post this - Licca the worst ever???

I might not be a current fan of him, but i find your post to be a bit disrespectful. He is a dual copeland trophy winner, and he was instrumental in our grand final years. His performance in the qualifying final vs port adelaide in 2002 was probably the reason we got there in the end.

The style of the game has evolved in a way in which it seems that the game may have passed him by. His disposal is pretty much the difference between him still being a good player or not, and we all know which way that's gone.

But to insult him the way you have is a bit out of line IMO.

He did stuff all in the pl or gfs of 2002 or 3.

I agree about the Adelaide final he was great but that was 5 years ago.

Can we move on.

I would play Reid on the wing and give him some footy education.

His skills are shocking - we all know it.

So you agree he was great when he won his Copelands?????

People decline, get over it. He has been a terrific player for many years, but his time is coming to an end, for sure. He still finds the ball, but disposal is lacking, and at his age he is probably past the time for improving (re-improving?)

Come on this is a little unwarranted. This guy has come back from two knee reconstructions to be a dual copeland trophy winner, has ben a excellent servant of the CFC. I expect him to still play senior footy when he gets back from his hammy injury. This is because he puts his body in, and his work rate, running is exceptional.

Its ppl like you leaf who make me sick.
You get out there and play half as good as Licka can and i'll take your
pathetic post seriously!!!

His time at our club has come to end, as i cant see him forcing his way back into the side when he returns to full fitness.

He has been a great clubman and ill never forget the 02' qualifying final against port, 40 touches was it not?

See ya mate.:thumbsu:

Im not a Licuria fanboi nor do I rate him highly at the minute... however the things hes achieved by far outweighs the negatives. He pretty much won the Port final on his own... 40+ touches wasnt it?

edit: 23 Kicks 17 Handballs 7 Marks 5 Tackles

Licca's been a great clubman.....This could be the end of him though.......
The thing that lets him down is he's disposal, but he's not the only one......
The best game he played for us was the 2002 final against Port..... gave Francou a bath and we surely wouldn't have won that game had it not been for him......But when u weigh things up he's really struggled the past 2 seasons... While he still wears the black and white he will get all my support...
The next 3-4 weeks is the perfect time to blood another kid for the midfield..

Licca is a warrior and a great servant of our club , he has made the most of his abilities and still has a role to play in the club .
For those so quick to burn him you need to look at the intangibles he brings to a young group .
The game is rapidly passing him but as I said , I feel he still has a role to play on the field .

Based on form over this year and even back quite a bot further missing Licuria won’t be a great problem. What will hurt is a lack of depth to replace him given we have a few other outs. While he has copped a bit flack of recent times I am lead to believe his calves are stuffed and possibly permanently. I hate to hear criticism of Licuria. While he has always had deficiencies he is one bloke I know has busted a gut and anything else available to busty for his career and his jumper. I think we have well and truly seen the best of Licuria and I for one am grateful he gave it to Collingwood. He should forever be defined by that 2002 final at AAMI.

Short term, Toovey can replace him by getting more game time. Medium term, Holland's due back in a fortnight.

Licuria's injury means we dont have to drop him. Injuries to senior players just gives us more opportunity to blood more kids. Egan, Davies, Iles, Nicholls, Cook, Goldsack and even Wellingham will get chances over the next few weeks.

I’d be on the blooding kids trail anyway to be honest. We need to know who can play. We have a hell of a lot of work to do on our list.

Some serious decisions have to be made at the end of the year and I beleive that some egos will be severely deflated come culling time. I can't see too many kids getting pushed out the door.

It is tough to play Licca, Burnsy, O'Bree and Holland all at the same time in todays game.

Licca was fantastic through '02 & '03 when we were amongst the best clearance teams in the league. Who could ever forget that QF at AAMI?

Liccas' time may have passed him by but he is still good back-up for Burnsy (3rd in league for clearances prior to Port game), Holland and O'Bree.

His time may be coming to an end and it will a sad day when it does. He may not be the player he once was,but he still has something to give the team, and I would assume that until the coaching panel and even Paul himself decide, he will still get a game this year.

I hope he comes back stronger and shows us what he is still made of.

Licca is a champion, a great guy and a fantastic footy player, his best is certainly past him and for a guy with limited skills at his prime the game may of past his prime but certainly a great Copeland Trophy winner and anyone who say other wise go watch some 2000-2005 games a true champion.
