So do we think we're not chasing Sholl anymore if we're landing Acres?
I like the idea of Acres and Sholl. Add to LOB and Cottrell, plus a quality outside (or 'balanced') midfielder draftee, and then, as I see it, it starts to give us depth and competition for spots in this area...

I think Sholl is likely anyway for spare change.

Was dropped for confidence issues and seems to be in a bad headspace at Crow land.

Maybe future 3rd and a pick upgrade

Not keen on getting both Acres and Sholl without a bit of a shakeup elsewhere on the list. Also not sure I want to be throwing away a top 40 pick in this draft when there's other mechanisms.

I think it spells the end for Hayes and Owies if we do.

Acres is exactly what we need! Read your stuff a bit and you are so far off the mark it's not funny.

How much ya wanna bet no matter what Owies stays?

And I reckon Hayes is gone no matter what.

Yeah I'm a little concerned about interest from other clubs, particularly for Setters.

Can't imagine Voss would want to trade Stocker - one of our few players with real hurt factor - after only one season working with him (and an injury interrupted year at that).

doesn't Acres have an injury history?
Some hammies, if the rumoured salary of $350k/year is true then he comes at the AFL average wage and for a second round pick.

Worth a roll given his height and overall size/athleticism + the fact that he fulfils and immediate need for us.

EDIT:
Just checked and he’s played two full seasons consecutively, also had three seasons at the Saints with over 15 senior games.

Had a fantastic season at Freo and I've seen him live! Doesn't shirk the contest like LOB and would be a fantastic pickup.

Had a very good first half of the year in particular. Am wary it's a contract year but for the money reported it's hardly an issue.

Not sure why you need to talk down one of our own in order to pump up another, Acres is hardly a contested beast, nor does LOB routinely shirk contests.

I’d be offloading Owies and Newman. Just stop gaps. Owies, too slow for his position and can’t kick over about 40m. Newman’s kicking and decision making ain’t good enough and he’s too slow. Neither is going to get better - Owies is 25 and Newman 29.

I'll post within site rules and post my opinion where I see fit. Acres would be a major step up from LOB and if most are honest on here, they've seen LOB looking like a deer in headlights. Made the comparison because it's for the betterment of Carlton Football Club.

We really lack a medium fwd. Zurhaar is a player I would love to get - very powerful and is great at ground level and in the air. Has he re-signed at the Kangas now that they’ve landed Clarko?
