I'm going to be in the minority here, but I'm not as shocked about it. Stiff? A little.

Outside of his hardness (which I loved), he was incredibly limited.
Obviously we don't know what has happened inside the 4 walls, but if midfield was his goal it wasn't going to be at Carlton. Just not fit enough and would be behind to many.

Could just be that he asked to be let go for more opportunity.

While I am a huge fan of his I am not overstating Stocker’s talents - I can admit that he has his flaws and is not a guaranteed best 22 player. But I cannot agree with this decision as he is at the VERY least worth another year on a cheap contract. He is a heart and soul type player - always the first in to stand up for his teammates, puts his body on the line, takes the game on.
There must be more to the story as on footy talent alone he is very stiff to be delisted.

But even if that was the case why wouldn't we trade him...

Its not even that. How many kids have we failed to develop that were drafted by SOS? Class of 2015 were for the most part gems. Everything else post that though? Much more misses than hits. I'm actually genuinely worried we have screwed our rebuild.

Don’t think SOS completely stuffed up. I agree he has screwed up a lot but he did build the spine of the list. For me 2015 was a great year and pretty much every offseason either despite Walsh was really average.

Stocker in my honest view would struggle to get into the midfield and that’s not a knock on him that’s a praise of our midfield. I’m of the view he’s not a defender so I can somewhat see what they are doing. Not saying I view this but I believe they see Boyd and Newman as better options in that position so I guess that’s why he’s gone.

Hopefully he can crack into a Team like the eagles where he will get a go

Just going to leave this here from my post back in July
Naturally seems to be more to do this than we are seeing on face value, but why would they play him against the Pies if there were issues in such a key game, he is only 22 so l am sure another club will give him the opportunity.
Seems a bizzare decision without knowing the story behind it.

I’m not at all surprised he is leaving but I’m shocked no other club has been inquiring about him.

This is the worst…..I say again worst decision the club has made in a decade

Why ? What is to gain by delisting him now ?

Scratching my head on this one, however some of the coaching appointments in the last decade have been far worse.

We’re definitely well stocked for inside mids and small defenders, so there is that.

He wouldn’t have got a game if not for injury, but he looked like such a promising player last year.

Wouldn’t have got much in a trade - why wouldn’t we be grabbing anything though?

The whole thing is really interesting.
