Clubs lost the plot there.

Just seen your username and it reminds me of when Mitch and Jeff got sacked

At least the club had half (and that’s all) a reason to sack them

The Stocker delisting raises more questions than it does answers

Historically we are shocking at the national draft.

Hits (best 22): Cripps, Weitering, Curnow, Harry, Walsh, TDK, JSOS, Fisher.

Misses (delisted, traded or disappointing): Dow, SPS, O Brien, Stocker, Williamson, Kerr, O Dwyer, BSOS, Macreadie, Polson, Schumacher

Undecided (very talented but haven't made it yet): Cuningham, Durdin, Motlop, Philip, Kemp, Carroll.

Struggled to nail picks beyond pick 30.

Came for the melts, didn't disappoint

Seems strange but at the same time I would presume there is more than meets the eye from both sides. Wouldn't surprise me if he wanted a break from the club and or AFL footy in genera

Or maybe he just isnt that good. Really poor by foot alot of the time (elite my ass), unfit and another who doesn't really have a place. If he isn't going to be a mid then he doesn't have a spot - and seems he will never be a mid with his poor tank.

Definitely was not elite. His kicking was horrible this year

Confused would be an understatement
Thats ok, we're not meant to be privvy to everything or understand everything.

When that happens to me, i either find out the real reasons why and gain clarity or just say fk it and move on if i cant.

We can never be across every decision the club makes.
We just need to trust that the current set up have got their shit together

I was always hoping Stocker could develop into a Jack Viney type mid. Crazy tough, no fear, not blessed with athletic ability etc, etc but now we’ll never know, he wasn’t given the opportunity. A real shame…..a bit perplexed atm tbh.

Fine ill do just the first rd picks, wont even bother with the other ones.

2015: all guns except cuningham - Pass

2016: SPS - fail

2017: Dow, LOB - Fail

2018: Walsh, Stocker - giving this a fail. Blind freddy could of picked Walsh.

2019: Kemp - unknown at this stage.

If i were to include 2nd and 3rd rd picks and beyond, it looks much worse.

I don't know if SOS was just an average list manager or our developments average, or a combination of both.... But i am not confident at all with this list.
Considering the total number of players drafted that not a huge list.

But drafting is so easy to criticise in retrospect.
There are failures at every club.

But no Carlton would not have been a great environment on which to prosper for sure.

Unfortunately you cant give players a free ride as compensation for a bad culture or poor development.

Stocker and Kerr were unluckly. Kerr could play but too many others similar ahead. Williamson was a decent pick at 61. Not often miracles there. Everyone below us would have jumped on Dow if we didn't pick him. We developed him very poorly in his early days. got harder roles meant for bigger bodies when he should have been allowed to develop in lesser roles.

To exemplify the phrase of “going too early”, of the undecided I’d say only Motlop and Durdin make it.
