Sorry Macca19 i think it was Josh Sinn that we gave up a lot for to go up a few spots. My memory can be shite on occasion

We gave up a future 2nd to go up 2 spots

The thing about about Finlayson is that he'd be a good AFL forward if he wasn't the worst set shot in the AFL
Findlayson is a highly talented player but defintely a confidence player. He was a major catalyst to winning games until he fell off the map (probably mainly due to his home situation). We have been unlucky with our key forwards (Marshall's concussion issues).

I know we all questioned the sanity of trading Wingard and Polec for magic beans- our List Management proved to be wise and inspired.

I know we have questioned the sanity of letting players players go for under but I believe our willingness to be the nice guys at the draft table was fundamental to being able to land Horne-Francis- our List Management proved itself again.

However, Atkins and McEntee on the list, putting in jeopardy getting Rome onto our list and the capitulation at the trade table over Houston makes me think our List Management has jumped the shark. We will know in about 8 days.

What part of trading our most talented player for Xavier Duursma and Ryan Burton proved to be 'wise and inspired'?

Theoretically the Small Fwd Depth Chart now reads:

Rioli
SPP
Richards
DBJ
Berry
McEntee
Anastopolous
Charleson

Of our 42 player list, nearly 20% in that zone. With Benny Barrett possibly still to come.

Probably the thing that worries me the most going into 2025 is that the coaches haven't realised Rozee has failed in finals and big games in the midfield for several years, and they look like they are going to commit to selecting him there. IMO he needs to be moved forward.

After watching that footage though of Berry, I'm seriously thinking he might be more of a wingman.

McEntee and probably Charleson should come off that list within 12 months. Who knows how good Anastosopoulos might become? Would seem to have a lowish ceiling but may improve quickly with better SANFL players around him. Rioli is 29. Berry at least adds potential A-grade talent there, and if he can hit the ground running it will be fun to have him overlap with Rioli for a few years. I'm hoping we take Barrett too.

If Rozee is ever going to move out of the midfield, then for me it will be to HB.

Reckon we need a bit more midfield depth.

This is probably my biggest concern. To get to a flag, I reckon we need more quality mids. We need a lot of things from a depth perspective, Key back, key fwd, a ruck soon, half back, wingers, but that mid space is probably the area that will make the biggest immediate impact on results for mine.

Rozee is a shit field kick for mine and that doesn't work at half back anymore given our existing balance, to me he's a player with valuable goal sense, and elite evasiveness, and should play forward.

Not sure if it’s been by circumstance or design that we routinely pick a small forward as sub. About 20% of the list being small forwards is pretty consistent with the make up of our best 23.
