Ridiculous.

Cox isnt going anywhere and Jackson isn't worth picks 8 and 13 anyway.

I just hope Jackson nominates Freo tomorrow and we can put all of the WC and PSD talk to bed.

Until then, you are hanging on with all you might...

Most players like leaving the team that drafted them on good terms

I get that, but at the expense of the team they are going to. The ex teammates don't give a ****, they're mates forever. They'll give him shit in the H2H games and the new guys he didn't play with might take it a bit further, but he'll hug and kiss most of them after the game and likely go out with a few too.

They'll also see each other at least every 10 years for a piss up and laugh.

It's the fans that make that rubbish up then boo and hiss at the player leaving!

Port might be looking for something to get Rioli & Graham,

So could be 8 & F3 for 13 & F2

Then get 8 & F1 for Jackson & 32?
Zero chance. You are miles off it here.
Port fans would burn down alberton if this trade happened and I wouldnt blame them.
It will cost 13 & Fremantle F1 to get pick 8.
So it won’t be happening.

There’s very little incentive for port to slide out of the top end of the draft just to help freo get their player
Port need picks to get Rioli & maybe graham… they might think they can draft the same player at 13 as they think at 8….
might be norths PP if freo get that for logue

So yeah, I'm fully aware trade threads are the equivalent of the Bay but these are my non-trolling thoughts.

Three trades that I've heard mentioned in this thread that can't be used are:
  • Dangerfield trade - he was a RFA and the Crows traded to get slightly more than the FA compo
  • Weller trade - Likely to never happen again that a good honest talented youngster get traded for pick 2. Weller was also contracted.
  • Tim Kelly trade - Monumental overs that will curse the Eagles for years to come. They rolled the dice on another flag and lost. Kelly will be 29 next year.
Trades that I think can be used are the Neale, Hogan, Cameron and Cerra trades. Ranking them with their value when traded they would look like this.
  • Cameron and two seconds for two first (no top 10 picks) and a early second
  • Neale and change for top 10 pick and a second
  • Hogan and change for top 10 pick and a second
  • Cerra and change for top 10 pick and a third
So no player was traded for two top 10 picks. No player was traded for two first round picks except for Cameron and that required two second round picks being sent the other way. I'd rate Jacksons value as similar to Hogan at the time of trade, which is being generous to Jackson.

So looking at that the Dees will get:
  • A top 10 pick and a second rounder with them sending a third back
  • Two first round picks with them sending a third maybe a second back
Either way it will be close to the same cost for Freo. Our 2022 first and 2023 first straight up or we could package those for a top 10 pick and possibly a second.

It won't cost more than that unless there are extra's coming back from the Dees as previous deals have shown.

Just because they don't currently have a top 10 draft pick, doesn't mean they won't be able to get one (if their motivation is there)

Its very hard to trade into the top 10 and i dont see freo needing to do it. The trade will get done for 2 picks between 10 and 20.

Lever is probably the most comparable trade.

Neale was contracted so I don't think compares.
