Melbourne offered him big moneyFreo offered him $50k more than Melbourne did.
No one is claiming his hitout work was top 3, it was opinion’s of a few in the media (not mine) that had his overall game as a top 3 ruckman, this was first half of the year when he was in form. His 2nd half of the year wasn’t as good. View attachment 1518923
Just ask your recruiting staff why they’ve offered him a long term big money dealQuoting the same SEN puff piece again?
Melbourne offered big money, $50k more than big money is even more big money. At 50k a year more than Melbourne did
Just ask your recruiting staff why they’ve offered him a long term big money deal
I have no idea what Facebook stuff you’re talking about, I was searching for a different article that had him ranked 2 lol when I found that one. I’ve said I don’t agree with those rankings but they indicate how well he was playing and how people were ranking him. You're basically quoting a Facebook post.
No one is disputing his potential but posting the same crappy ranking that was said as a throw away line on the radio is just a bit embarrassing.
Is that where that list he keeps quoting without any context comes from? You're basically quoting a Facebook post.

Should I use the list of rucks that have won the rising star next time?Is that where that list he keeps quoting without any context comes from?
Lol.
Imagine pinning your argument on a list that has English at 4th best ruck but doesn’t include Witts and Grundy in the top 5 (as far as his screenshot of this weird list shows)
Get your facts right. Belly had only been employed for 2 weeks when the Hogan deal went through and he's on the record saying he didn't want to get him at all. He was trumped by Steve Rosich. Langdon was uncontracted (exactly like Jackson) so you can't get much for him.Oh yeah, big bad Belly sure did a number on us over Hogan and Langdon. We might end up with three first rounders for Luke based on his past efforts.
Another bizarre thing you keep banging on about.Should I use the list of rucks that have won the rising star next time?

He’s not a Melbourne player anymore, good luck to him wherever he ends up but I still have him better than other ruckman at the same age, his influence on the midfield when in the ruck (especially first half of the year) was big. Spewing to be losing him.

Georgiades’ 2nd year was better than Hawkins and Riewoldt’s 2nd seasons. Buddy was pretty decent in his 2nd year but had already played too many games to be eligible for the rising star.Another bizarre thing you keep banging on about.
How is that relevant?
If Georgiades had of won the rising star, could I argue he’s a better kf than Franklin , hawkins and Jack riewoldt?
It’s almost like it’s an award only relevant to the year it’s given and not as a measure of players against the best.
Unless you worship at the altar of Lewis Taylor the all time best half forward… but I suspect not
Nah mate, comes from Belly himself. He was interviewed on attempting to keep Neale (He infamously referred to it as a feather in his cap if he could persuade Neale to hang around and not join Brisbane). In the same interview he was questioned about Hogan and said it wasn't a priority. Bell didn't want Hogan. Rosich did. It's an open secret for pretty much everyone who follows the Dockers. Rosich is the gift that keeps on giving by the way, he's given his daughter a job in Melbourne, and Lobb is hooked up with his daughter - which is pretty much why Lobb is heading to Melbourne and shafting Freo.I read that aboit the Hogan deal.... it seems to have come from every Dockers favourite media personality Kim Hagdorn. In this thread alone he's been bashed repeatedly and I'm pretty sure someone said the club blacklisted him years ago. He couldn't possibly be telling the truth here due to his obvious vendetta against Freo, right? Or is it just a case of you believing him when it suits?

yeah, all this jackson talk about his form slump but Sean Darcy's form slump was much worse for a guy in his prime. He completely forgot how to mark a football. 1.7 average marks per game for a couple of months. horrendous. So if anyone is criticising 20 year old Jackson for hitting a form slump, then Darcy's lack of form provides instant perspective. This is pretty meaningless, Andy Brayshaw didn't get a nomination for rising star, he was headed for one until gaff thought differently!
Sean Darcy could've got a nomination most games he played in his first two season, 14 touches, 40 hitouts on debut, 16 touches, 33 hitouts, 7 tackles and a goal in his 2nd game just a couple of examples.
Some media were also saying Jackson was worth $1.5m over 10 years, those people aren't list managers, they are people whose job it is for you to click on the link by making silly statements. Darcy imo was the best 1-2nd year ruck since Grundy.

English is improving and will be a more-than-handy ruck in the coming years. But I’d prefer Jackson any day of the week.Tim English is an overrated and limited plodder. Luke Jackson and his upside is 1000x better than that inanimate carbon rod.
English was elite for disposals/Intercept Possesions/Score Involvments/Marks/Meters Gained Above average for clearances/Inside 50s/Goals/Tackles/Pressure acts. He is average for his tap work would this not be exactly what they want an undersized Jackson to become?English is improving and will be a more-than-handy ruck in the coming years. The Melbourne fans wants us to look at Jackson’s non ruck stats to show us he is the 3rd best ruck in the league. But when compared to other ruck men those same stats don’t count because they are full time rucks. Can’t have it both ways. Tom Hawkins was pretty good in the ruck on the weekend.English was elite for disposals/Intercept Possesions/Score Involvments/Marks/Meters Gained Above average for clearances/Inside 50s/Goals/Tackles/Pressure acts.
