I think plenty are getting ahead of themselves with Bryan. I think our best team has Draper rucking and 2mp as the second ruck.
Bryan doesn’t help us enough in the air and Draper only shows glimpses as a forward.

we definitely can’t play all 3.

Brisbane played a ruck + Daniher + Hipwood.

No reason you can’t play 3 talls if everyone else can pressure it’s fairly standard practice

Your opinion of course but the version of 2MP we had in the back end of this year was rather average. Next year is the time to sort out the rucks and if the sub gets dumped then you can play 3. Are you saying Bryan has no scope to improve a little more over pre season ?

He could improve, but he has a long way to go to compete in the air with guys his height.

I’ve just seen plenty of mock teams with Bryan ruck and Draper forward, and even with no sub i wouldn’t want to play all 3 because it holds one bench rotation hostage to a ruckman.

If all players are playing well i think Bryan is the worst of the 3 by a fair margin, but wright was pretty bad last season, especially in the ruck.

The ability to have two blokes who can compete in ruck and forwardline is going to be our best mix, Bryan can’t compete forward yet, and I don’t see a lot of scope for improvement in this area.

I don't think we can play 3 talls + Langford though.

Bryan as the number one with Draper, Wright, Caddy and Langford is definitely too tall for my liking.

You're basically subbing out Stringer for Wright in the mix we ran with to finish the season, which would make our already poor forward pressure even worse.

Problem is none of the combinations are great on exposed form.

I said to myself I wouldn't do another one of these until after the season was done. However this is my scorched earth scenario, I'll probably have something more realistic post season.

I really like Shanahan.

I feel pretty queasy about our list atm. We really haven't moved out enough to be in rebuild mode and are setup for another low mid table finish. I think we are currently in the least desirable list position in the competition. Eagles and Crows the others in contention.

Yep. I don’t see any kind of direction here. Very frustrated. Rosa better have something up his sleeves.

I feel for Rosa as his hands are tied by the mess Dodoro has left, but I think we should have been shopping some guys harder. We essentially have Setterfield, Shiel, Tsatas, Parish and Hobbs fighting for 1 spot in the side. Which is a little ridiculous considering none are modern footballers.

Hasn't the problem FOREVER been that we've been overpaying for B grade players? Isn't that exactly what other teams were doing? It's nice to actually focus on the future for once and get good value.

Our biggest list hole all year was small forwards. We're getting the best small forward in a superdraft for nothing and we have an excellent hand to try chase Harley Reid next year. If we kept our pick this year but couldn't pick Kako from the academy I'd still hope we would pick him. I'm very happy.

The biggest hole is a small forward for sure, but we need to upgrade 7-8 players in the side before we are contending.

I didn't see us focus on the future here, other than taking the future pick trade but that was a forced hand. I don't think anyone is advocating for paying over for B graders. We need a draft hand like Richmond's next year, we are a dire state with Tasmania looming as well.

We got lucky to have a good academy kid in a position of need, but it did look like Rosa got spooked into trading pick 9.

I think this draft was the perfect season to go backwards. The draft looks very even and I would have liked to trade players with currency, eg parish Langford to get more picks in it.

our list is full of players that no other club would trade for but aren’t bad enough to be delisted.

Leverde setterfeild Shiel menzie goldy weiderman wright , I would have loved to see some tougher calls made on some of these names.

Small forward is a big hole, but there are several other absolutely gaping holes right behind it.

Our key forward stock is abysmal. Unless caddy breaks out that’s a major issue.

Reid and Ridley and Parish spend more time in the docs waiting room than they do at the club.

I fear chasing Reid will just sink more capital into a player that won’t fix anything for us.

So many issues with our list, you don’t know where to start
