The amazing thing is the dogs effectively got him for free. We were all set to pick Collins at pick 11 but got him and Dunkley for that.

Not quite true - Dal had his eye on Dunkley and thought he would drop a lot lower than 11, so rather than risk another Howard debacle, he split the pick, got his man in dunkley and was absolutely floored to be able to pick up Collins as well.

A very fine bit of recruiting either way.

He's no doubt an excellent young player, but I don't think he's light years ahead of his peers like so many make out. There's a number of quality midfielders in a similar age bracket going around at the moment.

No he's a long way ahead of anyone his age, top 10 player in the league.

Always tentative to make statements about clubs/players but after watching a lot of Dogs games this year and especially the last two finals he is something special. Midfield and can play forward, take a grab and kick goals. Best parts are he is only 20 and has his head on straight without a wif of arrogance.
