This whole conversation re Thompson lasted less than c.30 seconds; & occured immediately before 9am, when their program ended for the News. Thus, no talk back questions to them was possible. Nor have I heard other talk back questions to them on this issue -but I don't listen to their Program in its entirety.

This pisses me off. When there is a scandal involving anyone else but 'da boys' these guys cant talk enough about it. But a massive scandal involving drug trafficking which involves a club legend and they've got nothing to say.

I don't rate Watson anymore, I understand his son was involved but he trotted out far too much Essendon propaganda for my liking during the doping fiasco.

T. Watson was asked by G. Lyon what he thought about the recent issues concerning M.Thompson (interestingly, the first time I have heard them discussing this sensational "red hot" issue).

Watson, whom I believe is held in high repute in the media (excluding his difficult position re his son Jobe & circumspect 2012-2016 comments on the EFC supplements scandal), replied " When I heard he was living with bikies, this was not the man I knew. I was surprised, shocked...horrified... I haven't spoken to him personally for 18 months".
Lyon then said Thompson has gone to LA to be with his son, & asked if Watson will try to contact Thompson. Watson said " I will try to contact him".

Well, someone who worked at Essendon in a senior position while Bomber was head coach told me he wasn't surprised at all last week.

Sounds like Bomber is into making huge amounts of money... and if he got on to bitcoin during its early days, chances are he knew what it was commonly used to buy/sell...

But I'd say it's highly likely he's leaving the country because the media are following him around wherever he goes in Australia right now, not to hinder/escape an investigation.

What I heard Frank Costa say last week was going back to Essendon was the worst thing he could have done. Interesting comment for a number of reasons.

Bomber struggled in 2010 - GAJ stuff, "burnout", feathering his nest at EFC while still on our payroll etc. The team also struggled as a result of Bombers malaise.

At the time he resigned at GFC, Cook and Costa said publicly they were worried for him and his state of mind, etc.

They counselled him not to go to EFC, to take a sabbatical, and offered extra support from GFC. Costa even went to talk to Evans to check it all out.

But Bomber was sold on the EFC idea - and whatever else he was getting mixed-up in ATT.

That's why so many (inc his former wife and Bomber himself) say he should never have left Geelong.
