Be very interesting being the playing group right now, how much confidence would they have left in Nicks and the coaching group.

Last year they played attractive fun football, scored a lot and just missed finals. You’re then told over preseason you’re not good at defence, so we are going to change the gameplan. The new gameplan turns out a dud. They’ve killed the enjoyment, you’re too afraid to make a mistake, it’s a boring go slow game which has resulted in you can’t score and your winless.

You then hear from the coaches it’s your fault, you’re out of form, can’t execute and you’ve lost your “shape”. Experienced out of form players are persisted with, the youngsters are rotated and then you’ve got others that can’t get a game.

I believe the damage is done and he’s lost a majority of the playing group. Their belief and trust in him is gone, there ain’t coming back from it. When he talks it will become an irritant. The season isn’t getting any better and the worst possible thing this club could do would be to retain him for 2025. They need belief.

Belief is huge

This is why Buckley would be a great replacement, in walks one of the greats of the game who was huge admiration and praise for our list you see the way he talks about and analyzies our games on Fox he is passionate, he wants our job I really beleive that

$$ to get him out of Melbourne is the key

I think get him in the room with his own team (Pendlebury will be retiring , get him in as an assistant ) the players will listen and take note.

You have a happy clapper at the moment who just points fingers

This is the crux of the issue, spot on.

Despite all the spin, its abundantly clear the game plans changed and changed for the disastrous worse.

Rather than pivoting and accepting its not gelling with the players, the stubborn arrogance kicks in and we keep persisting with a failed experiment.

The Nicks supporters can squeal all they want, but this is solely his responsibility (Game plan) and he has utterly failed.

Are there any Nicks supporters left? Wayne jumped off after 2 games

Ross didn't blame just the players for being out of form and fumbly like Nicks.

Has Nicks and his assistants ever said that they have made mistakes or can improve?

"My assistants were outstanding at half-time – we felt we didn't problem-solve as much as we wanted to as coaches against Essendon, even though it's marginal, it's round the edges.

"We come together, and Robert Harvey and (Brendon) Goddard and Corey Enright in particular just spoke about getting into the contest. So we just changed things up. Not that it was complicated early, but we did have a simpler (message) just to get into a contest, lift our pressure, hit the last line a bit more.

"That resulted in 21-odd entries … plus-17 in contested ball, and our pressure rating went from 1.7 to 2.16. In the last quarter, when they were coming at us, we maintained our pressure. Our midfield is spluttering a little bit, to be fair."

"What happened is we actually landed a UFO in and walked out 22 aliens and put them in St Kilda jumpers and went out and played. We flipped the team," Lyon said with a grin.

"No, I was sharp at quarter-time, it's about the coaching panel. Players are going to do their thing, coaches come together – what are the three things, and you're banking on all the experience I've got, we're getting the right stuff, what are the KPIs and solution-focused, is it the right ones, and if it is, can they apply.

Listening to Burns interview with Blight and Wiley, again focus on young players:

Blight “do you work with the young blokes to take the tackle and give a holding the ball rather than dish it to the opposition”

Burns “yeah when I was a young bloke my coach would tell me to hold on to it rather do a dump kick”

Our senior players are guilty of both those things!!!

How about busting a tackle. Soligo our only bloke that does it.

Maybe the players all need to play like Hampton's sabotage final game.

...This is what we think of your shit gameplan.

'' the execution''

' its not fast or slow its mindset'

1 forced change - Parnell - mentions Will Hamill as replacement

' yeah theres guys ready to step up and play - its just them being onboard and have that connection and cohesion we're after so they can play their role''

and thats where I switched off after 2.35

Lucky you didn’t get to 3.41 “not wholesale changes” “1 maybe 2” “we were really happy with what we done” “we’ve got players that can come in and play their role” well how about picking them dickhead. “We didn’t execute” well drop them!!

What about the players that played shit and have been shit all year?

McHenry 10, he’s a dud. How long we going to stick with the miniature greyhound?
Jones another ordinary game.

Hamill has been average in all games played.

Yeah let’s keep the same midfield mix.

He is a ****ing moron, I hate him. Carlton will flog us and then I hope we lose to North so this clown is further exposed.

I just listened to his press conference today and honestly Nicks is absolutely clueless

Some takeaways....

He thinks that we're right on the mark, just some small errors being the reason why we've lost the games we have.

Believes the Melbourne game was a "pass" and a positive step forward. Claimed that we were in the game and it was just a few errors with the execution that was the difference

Doesn't think there's too many issues player wise and no need for wholesale changes, argued that we've come up against "tough teams" and believes if we get the system right the results will take care of itself.

Discussed about bringing Rory back, but no timeline for it.

Talked about bringing in Hamill for Parnell (a typical Nicks paint by the numbers selection).

“Paint by numbers” is the perfect terminology for the selection policy.

Phil Walsh was about creating master pieces.

This dickhead paints by numbers. Like for like for like for like.

Berry had ******* 7 touches last week, he’s a dud.

It sounds like the goal posts have been moved.

Prior to the season the messaging from the club was all about making the top 8.

Now the narrative is about selling hope about how we've been competitive and have just come up against "good teams", just a few errors being the only difference, just needing to get the system right etc

In the space of 4 weeks the club has gone from expecting to make the finals to now acting like we're a bottom 6 side and justify losses on being "not quite good enough".

There is no paint by numbers about it. Nicks eats crayons.

The longer we have Nicks as coach, the more I realise he is just another version of Hinkley. He is great at building relationships with the players, but no good at actually coaching or making the tough decisions when players need to be dropped.

I watched that game, they were great.

They leaked goals early, didn't drop their heads, no sooking. Didn't need a goal to lift them, just kept working.

Unlike a certain team I know.
