Is Matthew Nicks the right coach for Adelaide?

  • Firmly yes (I love what I'm seeing)

  • Leaning yes

  • Can't decide either way

  • Leaning no (but don't sack him yet)

  • Firmly no (he should be sacked)

Well this is on the coaches too, I get why Smithers would feel that way but dropping him earlier in the season when he was in his worst form would’ve been better for all parties

Saying he's just out there to help the young guys out is a pretty weak effort. He's also clocking games to hit a contract trigger. Plus he cracked the sads when dropped last week, it's not about anything other than himself. Typical senior AFC player.

"Just will you all stop??? I'm trying my hardest!!! and , and, and ...it's the effort that counts you know"

Geez that's animated given the opposition, maybe you'd react like that if it was 5 minutes to the final siren in a deep September game. But us and Hawthorn, surely he could keep his emotions in check.

Was his first win.

After 13 or 14 games or whatever it was mind you.

C'mon - I think Nicks is as bad as the rest of em.

But maybe you need to pump the brakes on having a crack at a coach getting animated at watching his team win.

Nicks loves to make dropped players emergencies 🙄. Good coaches don’t do this. They drop them back to seconds to find form and bring in others on the cusp as emergencies

That’s not how he thinks though.

If you drop a guy who you believe is best 22 it’s because they’re out of form and you think a run in the 2s is needed.

The guys he dropped this week are not that.

Smith has been a fantastic player, but this is how he’s been for a while now. He’s not out of form, he’s past it.

Burgess and McHenry have performed at the same level they always do. They’re not out of form.

The issue is once again, he continually picks guys who we know are not up to standard (Hamill, Murphy, McHenry) and makes the guys with potential: Worrell, Nankervis, Dowling, Ryan, Curtin bang the door down before giving them an opportunity.

He’s an idiot . Not sure we have ever had such a shallow thinker in that seat
