Interesting to hear about how Fremantle are going to go hard after Western Australians from interstate clubs. It's a horrible short sighted tactic. Its not recruiting the best players available. Hypothetically with this policy they most likely would be forgetting to ask and subsequently missing out on genuine talent that may not herald from that WA.

Where was this tactic a few years back when we needed to offload VB?!

It's because of the lack of success we have had recruiting anyone else. I had a chat with ross for about half an hour one day. Players are discouraged by their managers to come here due to the travel factors shortening their careers. The only players who want to come here are those coming home. An awesome place to live, but not if you have to fly east every second week!

The time when he re-signed, it was when Gold Coast were entering the comp and trying to lure him as the one uncontracted player per club they could take.
Throwing big cash his way. In our desperation, yeah.. we know the rest.

It was the next year, while he was still contracted, that a deal with Brisbane was trying to be done as we knew he was going to leave the year after anyway.
Apparently he agreed to go but Brisbane offered pick 12 and 30 and we didn't accept it.
Apparently we wanted either Redden or Polec plus the pick 30. Brisbane refused.

Christ this club was dumb under Trigg.

He bought a jeep? ;)

Interestingly, the story I (over)heard was that he went to buy a new Jeep but couldn't get finance because he didn't have a contract beyond this season, and apparently he told the guy that he wasn't going to be here, hence no contract. Why he'd be disclosing all this to a car dealer (or, indeed, thinking about buying a new car when he's going to move interstate in a few months so might as well wait until after that and save the hassle of transporting it) was not made clear.

I'd trust a car salesman's story. I've changed my mind, he's going.

Seems odd but Danger bought a new boat here in his last year.

Is there any truth to that?what is the average career span of a 50+ gamer in south Australia compared to Victoria?

More like the Jeep franchise won't be here next year

Just caught the tail end of something on Kane's crap show and ol Scoop Mclure said something about Freo I think and it wa that they're (if it was Freo) are trying to get BOTH McGoverns. Jeremy would have to break his contract though.

I'd like it if we are trying for Jezza. Howbowdah

Mich Cleary said on 3aw that it looks like gov is staying at the crows. Would be a smart decision on his part to stay.

You want car finance you just need to show a couple pay slips. They give finance to any shmuck who could get fired the next day, but they're gonna query Mitch's contract status? They aren't that bright or thorough at car dealerships (except Toyota dealerships, god bless)
