1. I didn't make the joke.
2. The joke was that Tippett said he wanted to go back "home" and then conveniently remembered that he was born in NSW and lived there until he was about 18 months old (or something like that), so NSW was therefore his "home", despite the fact that he'd lived in Qld the vast majority of his life and all his family was in Qld.
Yes but Fyfe doesn't want to go HOME. He IS HOME.

I get the intention, it was unfortunate that it didn't actually apply to this case, therefore making it a non-joke. :p

You missed the joke and are covering. The point was that Sydney is "home" to Tippett as Melbourne is "home" to Fyfe. It is funny! End of.

I didn't miss the ****ing joke. It would have been funny if Fyfe had said he wanted to go home. He IS home, therefore it isn't ****ing funny. Jesus.

If we could turn McGovern and our first rounder into a pick low enough to draft Fogarty, we should do it without any doubt.

I'm liking a lot of the trade ideas here, but I think we can do even better.

First, ok let's say McGovern wants to head home. Freo finish 16th, so they have pick 3. We're obviously going to have pick 18. We trade Gov to Freo to upgrade our pick 18 to pick 3.

Now let's sign Fyfe through free agency for about 900k per. Freo won't be able to match because of their 10 year $12 million contract they just gave Gov.

Next we trade Mackay and Douglas to Carlton for a 3rd rounder to clear up another $1 mil in cap space, and use that to sign Dusty.

At this point we have pick 3, Fyfe and Dusty, and Gov realises he wants to stay after all so we keep him too.

I think this should all be straightforward enough, and if it doesn't happen then frankly I'll think about switching to follow Port, as they are a club capable of getting deals done.

Worst case scenario is if we do give up McGovern and 18 for 3 and who ever we pick at 3 is a dud and 4 is the next Bont!

Not only have we lost McGovern we are then the laughing stock of the competition.
