Whateley is almost a parody of himself at this point.

Nah. He's ok.

Comparing a serviceable (albeit marginally more intelligent than most) Aussie Rules footballer against one of the all time great, world renowned, elite sportsmen of this little rock in space!

Even calling him more to his sport than the other is.

Hmm. Yep. Fair comment. Seems legit!:tongueoutv1::grinv1:

That whole ‘unsociable football’ era was wild. Hawthorn celebrated for being egregious rule-benders, while Matt Thomas is suspended for being jostled into an umpire running backwards by Brad Sewell, and Kane Cornes with a hitherto spotless record is suspended for shoving Sam Mitchell.
Let us not forget good bloke Hodgey nearly decapitating Wingard against the post

After what the s**t he said about us on 360 , every fabrizio Romano tweet about Messi I'm posting that fake quote.

let's see how that nerd deals with every Argentinean wanting his blood 😤
Oh man that is such an x factor in this funny chain of events. If we get Argentines after him its next level.

Whateley's first job at the H-S was as a movie reviewer. Says a lot about the way he sees footy.

If you'd replace gryan Miers with ken Hinkley I'd believe that quote 100%

???

Whateley loves the theatre of footy, the stories he can tell. His first professional job was writing about the excitement, the fun, the heartbreak, the tragedy in films. You can see / hear that professional training come across, when he does his editorials on SEN every morning, or gets on his high horse about an issue on SEN or AFL 360's.

His game calling is very good, I have no issues with that, but his editorials are some what formulaic.

He reminds me of the kid from Almost Famous getting to rub shoulders with Stillwater, and completely forgetting the advice given to him by Lester Bangs: Don’t make friends with them, etc.

In terms of his selective impartiality as a journalist/pundit, he’s no different to any of the Geelong fans who periodically wander in and drop their monocles at enduring criticism of their former player/assistant coach.
