I must be the minority but of all the Senior players I'm least annoyed with it's Gaff. The best ability really is availability and week in week out he's putting his body on the line and trying to set an example the best he can.

His constant get ball, look up field, decide to kick sideways or backwards is starting to wear me down. If he wants to keep playing he needs to pull the trigger on some forward kicks.

This echoes what Mark Duffield said in his show this morning- Gaff needs to be more daring with his disposal and he used the example of Hurn who was more attacking with his kicking against Essendon and we were better for it

These people are toxic

At what point do they step back and consider the ramifications of what they say given we’ve just had two very senior, successful coaches step away due to the demands of the job

Not just the footy media - news.com.au doubled down on Stan Grant. I don't know or particularly care about Meghan Markle but the vitriol the tabloids direct at her to sell papers/generate clicks is ridiculous.

Why would they care? They live in their own little bubbles, completely insulated from the utter shit that they spew.

Not a half decent person amongst them, absolute oxygen thieves.

Really! Have you seen the Optician lately lol. Imo he’s really fallen off a cliff.

They don't, there's no regard for "human factor" with her and barrett.

You'd hope GC come out tomorrow all guns blazing about this.

Dima's also good mates with Mountain, so I can't imagine he'd be real happy either.

I rarely agree with anything Caro says but she’s on the money here. Jabba has no idea as usual and for Lloyd as a supposed informed media figure not to know the soft cap numbers is pathetic

I don't understand why the AFL doesn't - is it as simple as propping up Norf and St Kilda?

Yes. If the rich clubs can pay more, the AFL has to up funding to keep the povvos able to recruit. The impact the cap has on the WA teams being able to pay enough to convince someone to move from Victoria is irrelevant to them. If they could force everyone doing the same job to be on the same salary, they would.

Which brings us back to the question of why would rich clubs bother trying to maximise profit when there's nothing they can spend it on?

I also don't care about the Harry+Meghan circus, but I suspect they bring most of that on themselves?
They never stop with the sensationalism, the race card etc, then they sue on top of everything else they do
to generate money. If they really wanted to escape all that razzamataz, they could just live a quiet life somewhere by staying out of all the social whirl, many other celebrities and stars do..

Our state daddy and political juggernaut will leave a branding issue behind - it was always called the McGowan Govnmnt, not Labor, so they'll have to rebrand. Meanwhile the Libs see a small opportunity to try and drive a wedge in there. While he was all about state security and profits and expanding public transport to match the expanding suburbs and more importantly the much needed expanding consumers, he did not so much to help the sagging hospitals and health care issues nor the frontline workers.
One nurse remarked " If McGowan is feeling tired and burnt out, he should try being an underpaid and overworked nurse in an overcrowded and underfunded hospital!?"

Vic, SA and NSW have class actions against them for not paying young Dr's in hospitals for long overtime. More to follow. WA hospitals are a cess pool of bullying and fraud. Well on a par with other states it is so bad.

I used to think it was just that as well, but the level of discontent seems to be too universal now for it to just be about funding for minnows anymore.

Perhaps they are just fearful it will open up the inevitable issue of relocation/mergers that should have been dealt with 30 years ago.

Plenty of crackpot rumours swirling around in the vacuum of course - mostly along the lines that soft cap is HQ's effort to "achieve" an all-big4 Melbourne finals series and generate record profits.
