I think you are quite confused over which draft Phil was originally talking about.
It was the 2022 draft and the Allies were very average and Vic Metro won the
Championship, defeating Vic Country in the last game to claim the title despite the best efforts of an underage Harley Reid.
In that tournament WA played Vic Metro and one Elijah Hewett was easily best on ground. So your argument that you make really makes no sense.
Further to that Warlaw didn’t play as he was injured and while Sheezel was solid he didn’t star at the levels he was at talent league. Will Ashcroft had a very good carnival.

I also watched the Allies play WA. The best- classiest players by far were with the Allies. That's a simple head to head comparison. You confuse the point I made by discussing irrelevant sub games and past years.

AAA didn't cover our game. or Sydneys' (**** i hate apostrophes, I'm sure that's wrong, Sydney's) for that matter. we play ok and a premiership fancy almost got its pants pulled down, doesn't fit the narrative. shame they didn't confuse the navy blue for black, sure tigers didn't get skipped last week.

Just listened to Duff and he made some great points and echoed what I was thinking as well.
He pointed out how the commentators were falling over themselves talking about how Reid is our best player whilst completely ignoring the excellent performances of McGovern and Yeo in the game and in the year so far.
I thought it was an excellent point and really resonated with me as I thought the commentators were being incredibly disrespectful.
