Change with the coach has happened every year. Our game plan has had drastic changes in the last 8-10 years.

It simply hasnt. Richmond and Melbourne have beaten us in exactly the same fashion, because we are trying to do exactly the same thing we have tried to do since 2017. We were worked out back then and have done nothing to alter our gameplan to adapt.

The Joel and Danger midfield era is over. The Narkle, Constable, Parfitt era will not cut it.

We dont know that because they have never been given a chance to play together. What do we look like with Selwood and Danger playing the Rohan and Dahlhaus role with minor minutes in the middle? All while Narkle and Constable et al are playing more midfield minutes with Guthrie, Duncan and Menegola.

Honestly you can defend Scott with everything you have all you like, we have a fundamental failure of SYSTEM and effort. That's absolutely on the coach just as much as the players.
Not even considering that we play a system that is simply not designed for finals football nor have players trained in such a way as to exploit that exact system.

Minus 35 in contested possesion.. Simply a midfield belting. Nothing to do with structures putting your head over the ball and winning a one on one.

Keep Duncan, Guthrie and Menegola and go hard at getting the next midfield that is good enough.

The problem is Duncan, Menegola and Guthrie aren't that much younger than Selwood and Danger. They're not far off the cliff either.

What an unbalanced side we picked. We have our best pure contacted mid go down yet we bring in another mid sized defender, who aren't talk enough to play key back and not nimble enough to play on the smalls.

Our midfield is skinny enough, we had the opportunity to play Higgins, Simpson or narkle but no we go Zac Guthrie.

Joel needs to retire, he's last 6 weeks he's been exposed in the midfield.

We keep throwing blicavs around, now he's no good in the ruck or defence

When you have danger, Hawkins, Cameron, guthrie you need to roll the dice again and trade aggressive.
