This is a pain. Would it be safe for me to purchase flights for me and others for Anzac Day if i purchased tickets the morning they are released. I need to buy tickets for 6 others for Anzac Day with my 11-game Flexi.
generally you can still get tickets in the few days after they are released so you should be fine.

If you log onto Ticketek that morning bright and early, you should be fine getting the tickets.

any chance of hitting 50K?

OT slightly, but i saw that Carlton were potentially trying to push to have the MCG as their home ground. i still feel we are really behind the 8 ball at Etihad. if that happened, we'd be well behind Collingwood, Carlton, Richmond and Hawthorn in terms of membership in Victoria. that's a big slide from number 1 just over 10 years ago, and number 2 pretty much since the early 90s.

We may have made similar plays yet aren't as vocal about it perhaps?

I would hope that if an opportunity existed for the club to get to the MCG then we would be pursuing it

This week we had an increase of:
963

During this period previous years we had an increase of:
2012 - 741
2011 - 1,105

I think we are sitting 'ok' however certainly not the growth of memberships like hawks and collingwood seem to get every year....

I think A LOT of that has to do with the move to etihad and being forced to buy a reserved seat as well as membership.. so from memory we still make similiar $$ to other clubs even with less members.. sort of like adelaide and WCE.

Essentially the die hards have signed up.. renewing members who are staying have signed up.. now it depends on how many 'band wagoneers' decide to jump on board which is dependent on form in NAB and first 1-4 rounds..

Think we can nudge 50K which would be nice..

I wouldnt say behind the 8 ball, our attendance figures are 2nd to collingwood then there is a gap to richmond and the scum. There aint many games we play each year that many miss out on due to the seats available etihad. Also our cut for each attendee at a etihad game are very good. So we dont need that many people to make a profit there. If we move to the g we lose that deal at etihad and the profits that go with it. Yes moving to the g sounds good but it may not neccesarily mean more money for the club.

Has the member pre-sale dates been pushed back due to this 'fans tax' that may be implemented this season?

If I have to pay even more for an Anzac Day ticket on top my membership I won't be happy. Not the club's fault but it's disgraceful the fans will get penalised just because smaller clubs have no supporters...

i know we have a profitable deal at Etihad, i just feel that it stifles us from getting near collingwood in terms of members and fans.

on another note, as an AFL member, i've been able to get tix to all the MCG blockbusters this morning, but ticketmaster is having a meltdown, so haven't been able to book any Etihad games as yet. anyone else been able to get through?

There hasn't been an indication as to the reason it's been delayed or when the new dates will be unfortunately.

So did anybody else get their hopes up with all this talk of the cards being here by this week?

I probably wouldnt have minded that mine didnt come, except it seemed such a certainty.
I got mine? Then again I signed up first day.
I wouldn't feel too disheartened, you'll get it in a few days.

Would be interesting to see how we're going in comparison to two seasons ago, last year memberships weren't very high, but from memory 2011 was a strong year in terms of members.
