Lol, not sure what happened there, but that should've said threepeat.

I know Jimmy is a handsome man with those golden locks, but I've never looked at him that way....

Likely story, it doesn’t matter which way you swing when Jimmy locks those pretty eyes on yours…

Given the stuff that has come out today about standards in training, prep and recovery I reckon the lads should enjoy the next couple of weeks because they are going to get absolutely ****ing flogged this pre season.

I actually suspect it's less about being flogged and more about what they're doing when they're not at the club; recovering appropriately as a professional athlete should, managing their intensity so that easy sessions are actually easy, and the hard sessions can then be very hard without getting injured.

Too often we've seen players breaking down during pre-season which is often a sign of not managing their load appropriately. The better they are at the recovery side of things - e.g. nutrition, sleep, active recovery - then the more cumulative load they'll get by simply not getting injured during the pre-season.

The idea that pre-seasons are simply about being flogged more and more and more is very old school. Young athletes often need to be educated about how important the off-track part of their preparation is.

Soft talk, Owen.

Get the bricks out, I say. These hills won’t run themselves.

Looking forward to which players will be recast under Brad Scott:
Laverde less key defender more Brayden Maynard.
Ridley less key defender more Bailey Dale.
D'Ambrosio less small forward more Caleb Daniel.
McGrath less midfield more Jack Sinclair.

Surely the Redman and Brayden Maynard was the easiest comparison to make.

It was Brad Scott who smashed a very injured James Hird in 2001 wasn't it? History repeating? A deliberate insult to Hirdy?

I tried to find video of the Scott brothers and Mal Michael giving Nick Riewoldt's shoulder a test. I thought it was a bit rude at the time. Now I think it's the mongrel we're looking for, though maybe without the malice.
