I would doubt that Carlton would take Cahill at #40, given that we have just drafted Hurley at #6.

I cannot see us going for a tall with both picks 6 and 40.

If we select Hurley at pick 6, we will probably go for a smaller player at pick 40.

On the flip side, if take a midfielder (Ziebell, Hartlett, Sidebottom) at pick 6, I expect us to take a tall at 40.

There are so many permutations that could eventuate for our footy club come draft day. I only hope the club take the best available. Could very well be an interesting day come November 29. Unlike past years, anywhere past #3 could fall anywhere.

With the 2006 draft said to be so strong in terms of KPPs, it was a massive surprise when Essendon selected 5 smalls from their 6 selections. As it turns out Jetta, Hislop, Davey, Houli and Reimers all look good...even Hislop despite his axing. So my thoughts on what our strategy should have been and what the club actually did, turned out to be very different...and lucky it was.

Surprising would be Phil Davis or Rhys O'Keefe top 10.

Why would North take Trengrove?

I can't see him holding down full back or displacing Petrie or Hansen at centre half back. We sure as hell don't need to use a first round pick on a ruckman or key forward. I think we'd be much more likely to take McKernan in that case.

My suprise draft involves the clubs agreeing to swap picks so that Brisbane's seven picks are the first seven picks in the draft.

They take:

1. Watts
2. Naitanui
3. Rich
4. Ziebell
5. Hartlett
6. Sidebottom
7. Yarran

So very many people confusing "mock" drafts with "phantom" drafts, for that matter. A mock draft is where you have different people selecting for each team.

Nah, they've gone tall the last 3 years with their first selection with Clark, Leuenberger and Henderson, plus they took Collier last season with their second round selection.

They'll take a midfielder. Hartlett and Swift would be the 2 names Brisbane are most likely to look at.

And yeah you'd think North will look to the midfield also.

I can see Trengove being drafted at either Richmond, Adelaide, Collingwood or Geelong.

I wouldn't count out Carlton if Hurley is gone.

i thought it was something to do with making a mockery of the whole thing. like a mock draft gives an example of the typical group think opinions from people who know very little.
