I really have to ask why saints want brown. He doesn't represent value. He is too important to wce. They will have to pay pick 13 or pick 24 + something to get the deal done.

I thought it was pretty obvious we don't even have one kpd. And if not brown than who else? Brown is the best depth kpd in the comp.

Strange move by the Saints IMO, i know you need a KB but to nominate a contracted player means you have to pay overs, pick 13 will probably have to be offered to have any chance of success, reckon for pick 13 there'd be other clubs willing to play ball with one of their KBs, guess it's all down to where you guys rate him in the end.

I think it was worth a try though, I know he isn't "available" but he's "best available" if you know what I mean.

Yeah no harm in trying it on and hoping a low 20s pick gets the job done i suppose, just out of interest who would you prefer, Brown or Keefe from Collingwood?

Brown by a long way and Browns not that flash. Cant believe he and his brother where both first round picks.

I just remembered that Chris Pelchen is now at the Saints. There is a real chance this deal won't happen as he's such a prick to deal with.

Yes great to have someone representing us who wont bend over for you. You have been spoilt negotiating with Eagles and Melbourne who have no idea.

St.Kilda have obviously watched the reeming Nate Brown gave Reiwoldt a few years ago in B2B Gfs and think Mitch could hold down a similar role.

St.Kilda badly needs something to aspire to something greater then 9th. Their list is old and ordinary. Badly needs an injection of some more WAFL players.

Lol Riewoldt the best performing big man on the ground you mean? What 18 poss 9 marks two goals imagine if he played well then.

We wont be trading Brown until he gets back from holidays. The only word the club has had is with his manager, they are yet to speak to him personaly. Back next week if I'm not mistaken so dont expect a trade to be done before then if at all

Here's a scenario, it's likely coming from a very biased West Coast view:

It's early October 2013, Brown was forced to stay, and wasn't happy. However he plays 12 games due to injuries and plays well. He misses the qualifying final but plays in the losing prelim and plays well. Glass retires at the end of the year. On the other hand, the saints continue their fall, winning only 8 games for the year and looking unlikely for a flag anytime soon.

Both clubs offer Brown a good contract, and both can guarantee he will play CHB.

What will his decision be?
Will he leave as he's annoyed with what WC have done (to the saints or otherwise)?
Or will he stay, driven by a desire to be a key part of a team fighting for a flag?

If I'm being honest with myself, I think he'd leave. But that's my take on the scenario anyway, as pointless as it may be.

Edit - didn't mean to quote/reply, just meant to post.

Brown will be a restricted free agent at the end of next year - likely compo would be based on his new contract of at least 3 years - End of first round / or second round - that would be his market value

thats as unbiais as I can get
