I also think Shiel is gonna choose Hawthorn. Choco is no fool and he’s going to be giving his prospective son in law good advice

Do you think an old experienced head is gonna say go to Carlton over Hawthorn?

Can’t see it
He's gonna say "you're my daughter's partner. Go where the money is. If they offer the same money, don't choose Carlton."

If they give us 2 and 3 and we give them 8, 16, 20 , 23 and 24 they would be better off as they get 3 extra picks in the top 25 of a very strong draft . They need to build a whole team they don’t need just 2 good players they need ten as they are shithouse and will be even more so with the players leaving this year.
I would rather 2019 1st instead of 8 and hope to pick up Hately with 8.

And women can make sexual references as well.

The inference that sex and sexual references are only male characteristics is ridiculous and belongs in the 1950’s.
True, but its largely us blokes doing it. Man up and say its unacceptable. This pathetic defence that some women do it too, is just ridiculous.

The McGovern trade wont go as smooth as it seem's

I find it interesting Pyke has been in melbourne for some time. It has been mentioned that he has been taking a Clarkson approach and leading conversations with trade target's

On [device_name] using BigFooty.com mobile app

The stragedy seems to be working given Smith and Stengle could be heading to Adelaide.

Chocolate knows the industry. He knows long term, winning will allow them to make significantly more money.

Take a bit less now and win and then collect the extra cash outside of the game.

How is it politically correct? o_O It’s common decency. Do you know how many references are made to boners, hard ons, lubing, bend over, bent over, reaming, the South Park sprog meme etc etc etc are used in here on a daily basis? It’s even worse around draft/trade time. Boys will be boys is not a good enough excuse. There are women on these boards too.
I counted 7 in one sentence? Well done

My first offer would be

Adelaides 2019 future first and second pick with Pick 19 (from Carlton) and pick 24 and 25 for McGovern

If they can land us pick 2 and 3 and then take 7 and 15 to the draft. Happy bloody days.

Very very slim chance but we can dream.

So how do you think the Crows will get these players? GC aint going to give them away
start from the beginning of the conversation, we are going on a rumour, and working out the were and wants.
its the silly season so you pull apart every rumour. and look at it.
As for getting the players, I guess it will be the same way any of the top picks move to clubs from GC to other clubs. I am working on a preventative approach for GC.

Hmmmm. Didn't bother GAJ, but he'd already won stuff I guess. It would depend entirely on the worth of the difference in the contracts. And remember, Carlton have some pretty decent brown paper bags lying about;)

If you take less for a trade, you take less for the total of all trades.

We won’t be accepting unders. McGovern is going to be the centre of our trade period. We will be squeezing every last drop out of his currency. We’ll be letting Carlton worry about making up for lossses in the total trade shyte.
Things is though, if:
[1] taking unders for one deal (Gov to Bloos) enables getting a lot more from another deal (2&3 from GC) to happen, or
[2] not taking unders for one deal but means the other deal doesn't happen

which option is better?

In the first we take less for one trade but gain much more overall with the other trade.

I think we are now seeing that the chance to win premierships and play for successful clubs means zilch to the players. It's all about the $$$.
This is a generalisation, which appears to be true for some players, but certainly not all. E.g. Sloane, Tex, JJ, etc would have all left the Crows if they were solely about chasing money.

Different people are motivated by different factors, so it's simplistic to claim all players have the same motivations.

Sloane - I agree with you. The other two, no way.

If we are contemplating this, it needs to be a 3 way deal with GC and Carlton so we can guarantee the picks.

We can't be left holding the baby if GC pull out early or Port cut our lunch
Absolutely. Doing a deal in hopes that a handshake deal ends up going ahead is ridiculous. Which is probably why we'll do it.

aaa

Tex turned down bigger money to stay and even took a pay cut recently to keep players. Tex was saying he a one-club player well before Sloane mention it.
JJ turned down a very good deal to stay at the Crows he sign on for less money by the same length of the contract.
It was not about money with both Tex and JJ.
