Why would Gibbs say that he was happy to stay in Melbourne (which he did) if a fair deal couldn't get done.
Could be lopsided for one or the other. It will be interesting to see where he ends up.

I don't believe it was 'part of the plan' and I don't believe we would have been in this bad a shape had we had a better run with injuries through the year. The worst year I can remember us ever having in this department in my 40+ years of supporting this club.
I thought we had hit rock bottom last year and there were a few from the club suggesting this year could be worse as our team would be younger on the park - and that did eventuate but like any supporter you hope for the best.
It is clear now that we have a huge hole in our list in that 23 - 28 year old bracket and this needs to be addressed.
I know for a fact that a number of players (ie. O'shea, Mullet etc) were brought in to support the kids in the VFL...but they ended up having to play AFL due to our injury issues and that was not part of the plan.
Why ask for assistance? I'm not the one asking. So I cant answer that.

It feels like the deal has been done, and I don't see how it could be anything other that 1 for McGovern and 7 if that's true.
Jesus, if it's McGovern for 25, I might just have to have a year off.

We have a few that go alright... but we're talking about players that will be retiring within the next few years and I'm thinking Simpson, Kreuzer and Murphy off the top of my head.
