If McAdam is of interest to us, he will just be a number. From the couple of times I saw him on a live stream he was a handy forward. He is not the next Kelly. I would seriously doubt that we are looking at him for anything higher than our pick in the 60s. Plus isn’t he actually a WA kid? Maybe start fantasising about trading him there. He is irrelevant to this thread.
Exactly my point.

Couple of issues, Essendrug are shocking to deal with, no such thing as a win / win and no way will we trade 3 for 8 and 15. Why give up an elite pick for 2 picks meh picks.

Deals like this are occurring far more often every year. As an average run of the mill supporter, we don’t know the finer details as to why clubs ended up with thst deal.

A small loss helps become part of a big win.

I agree ...in this draft, with you having so many picks ....this deal is not attractive

However for a St Kilda that only has #4 and then #57 .......those additional picks are essential to their plans ...maybe not #8 and #15 .......but the McGovern pick and #15

Saint Kilda need a pick for Hanneberry ......not going to use #4 and then take themselves out of the Draft .....not going to use #4 and get Sydney's #12 back ....Sydney need picks & points to get Moore and father / son Blakey, who's a high end first round pick

We also need to be watchful as to what Port might do. I heard tonight that port are trying to bundle their pick 9 with Norths pick that they get for Polec to Brisbane for pick four. We need to be in front of them.
So how do Brisbane then get Neale ??

If Carlton can trade their two seconds for 12 from Sydney, I'd probably be happy with McAdam and 12, if we feel McAdam is ready to go.

Or perhaps it's Burgess and 12, and we trade for Stengle.

7, 12, 15, 19, 37 is a good hand.

I didn't originally suggest it, but 8 is certainly not a 'meh' pick. 2 and 8 would likely land you the King twins, which makes a lot of sense for the Suns if they were so inclined in going that way. Wouldn't really say 15 is a meh pick either, still a solid 1st round pick, you just need your drafting and recruiting team on the money identifying talent. You don't need any more Kolodjashnij or Lemmens types.
I meant meh in comparison to pick 3 so I hear what you’re saying. The draft is a lottery but we all know the pointy end gives you the best chance.

Agree, I think the Saints may jump at this for the reasons you mentioned. I guess it comes down to how much they want King

So has anyone from Adelaide, Carlton or McGovern's camp said that the Blues are his destination of choice? Or just Hutchy?

Seems after we blurted early on Gibbs that everyone is going to great lengths to keep their cards close to their chests

Hutchy just worries about where his next Family Feast is coming from.

Yes, but they also need a pick for Hanneberry, given they've publicly committed to him .....you'd say a mid teen 1st round pick

You gave up #2 for a vanilla, one paced plodder last year
We certainly paid a premium and many of us were furious at the time. In hindsight it’s looking ok with Weller finishing 3rd in the B&F and playing every game and the pick we received in return became Charlie Ballard.

In 2011 Nathan van Berlo played every game and finished 2nd in the B&F. We sucked balls in 2011

Ain’t no one saying he was worth Pick 2
