If you are severely unwell, such as having difficulty breathing, call 000 (Triple Zero).

If you have travelled anywhere overseas in the past 14 days and have COVID-19 symptoms, seek testing at a COVID-19 clinic or contact your GP (advise your GP of your travel history) and isolate yourself.

If you have NOT travelled overseas recently, but are feeling unwell, visit your usual health care provider. Avoid contact with others if you are unwell.

Dear posters: unsubstantiated advice will be deleted. We understand you want to help, but #fakenews blah blah blah we're not allowing any disinformation. Got some great advice about washing your hands whilst dancing like David Byrne in Once In A Lifetime helps kill the virus? That's fantastic, provide a link to a reputable source.

I've just been down the mall and yes - eerily quiet - more like 7.00 am than midday. Then again, mad march is pretty much over, so Adelaide normal!
They are all at Woolworths downstairs.

Does this mean that the mortality rate is lower than reported?

This is true and a bit like the USA philosophy. I suspect they will wait until the hospital get fully run over before going for the bigger lockdown. That should be a good 10 days away...
Forgot to add - you have to meet the criteria - unless you are an AFL football player in the least likely to be impacted group in the country. Then you immediately get a test.

The current criteria are not designed for people who caught it as a result of community transmission. They are really only limited to those who have been overseas, or those who have been exposed to people returning from overseas. Right now, if you catch it 2nd or 3rd hand, you don't meet the testing criteria.

Why are the testing criteria so restrictive? Because they don't have anywhere near enough test kits. They made a big fuss over the arrival of 97,000 test kits this morning. The ACT has already tested 4,000+ people, with only 3 positive results. How long are they seriously expecting 97,000 test kits to last, given that the number of infected people is growing exponentially? 97,000 is at least one order of magnitude too few to be useful, possibly 2 orders of magnitude.

Sorry, I'm finding it hard to keep up with all the comments. Has anyone else had their temperature tested before entering a business premises? That happened to me this morning at my local credit union. :drunk: It was quite a surreal experience.

Behind close doors they know that at least 60-80% of people will get this thing. Their policy now is to slow it down to not overburden the health system without crashing the economy. They won't say this but their end goal is to get to the so called "herd immunity.'

I have seen shop front service shut and orders from warehouse only

I have had product on pallets and told 'help myself to our order' and email invoicing

Passengers passing through Changi Airport in Singapore were checked using heat sensitive cameras when I passed through in early February. It is outrageous that it has taken so long for such a basic precaution to be implemented in Australia. There are still no detection systems in place in the Australian airports.

I heard a chap on the radio this morning who runs a limousine service from the airport, picking up people and taking them to their place of quarantine. He said they can't access any face masks, and drivers who display flu-like symptoms are being denied testing, even though they're in direct contact with people returning from overseas. It's a complete farce.

Agree.

I saw the same in Changi, even saw them at the gate.

In Sydney, there were sime signs and AQIS officers were wearing masks, but that was about it

Up to 560 cases in Australia now:(
Whoa. This morning it was a lot less:

As at 6.30am on 18 March 2020, there have been 454 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Australia. There have been 40 new cases since 3.00pm yesterday.

Like it's someone bringing a new opiate pain killer to market, or a hair loss treatment.

Tell me more

No, but I've seen signs saying that.

Yep. Exponential growth is scary :(

I had mine checked at a SANFL trial match on Saturday (I was there as an official).

I had mine checked at the cruise terminal on Saturday, before they would let me in to fill out the refund paperwork after they'd already denied me boarding.

Had heard a lot of chatter in the last week that Virgin might be on the verge of bankruptcy. It seemed that lots of people were trying to transfer their FF points to partner airlines.
Yes, my nephew knows a lot of pilots, a mate of his has been laid off from United Airline, 400 aircraft on the ground and close to collapse.
