Home Isolation Advice:

What to do if you’re feeling unwell

If you are severely unwell, such as having difficulty breathing, call 000 (Triple Zero).

If you have travelled anywhere overseas in the past 14 days and have COVID-19 symptoms, seek testing at a COVID-19 clinic or contact your GP (advise your GP of your travel history) and isolate yourself.

If you have NOT travelled overseas recently, but are feeling unwell, visit your usual health care provider. Avoid contact with others if you are unwell.

Dear posters: unsubstantiated advice will be deleted. We understand you want to help, but #fakenews blah blah blah we're not allowing any disinformation. Got some great advice about washing your hands whilst dancing like David Byrne in Once In A Lifetime helps kill the virus? That's fantastic, provide a link to a reputable source.

Some people are blaming Governments inaction causing the spread of the virus. I was watching a YouTube video at the start of the outbreak of flights out of the Wunan, the amount of aircraft coming out to all parts of the world in just 24 hours was mountainous, there was no way this virus was going to be contained.
Like other viruses we will not be immune, it will not be stopped, and banning gatherings will do little to stop it.
People are blaming Governments for not MAKING them stay away from festivals and events instead of just doing it themselves.

The announcement comes after the PM met with state premiers and chief ministers to consider how to best respond to the spread of Covid-19.

So you're suggesting State Premiers and Chief Ministers had zero input into the announcement....yeah OK.

I think given what we know about this govt (think the “I didn’t invite Brian Houston to the White House” claims, think the fire fiasco, think sports rorts) nothing would surprise me. In fact it’s almost laughable that the ban has arbitrarily been made for Monday. Not Immediate. Not Saturday. Not Sunday. And we all know why. This govt. THIS prime minister has given us no reason to believe anything different.

I’m not so bothered by that. What shits me is the ‘I’ll still turn up to the rugby mass gathering despite being in close contact with a confirmed corona virus afflicted’ attitude. That’s an appalling lack of judgement.

And only changed his mind to go because of how it will be “misrepresented” rather than it’s right bloody thing to do!

we had a task force that was supposed to prepare the country for such an occasion

a certain party spent the better part of 2012-2016 defunding it while in control of the purse strings

a certain orange hobgoblin then dismantled it three years ago

lesson is you reap what you sow—put imbeciles in charge and you get what you see unfolding here

we earned it and now we get to wear it
Shite..i wondered where she got to...did julia gillard relocate to the USA?

Something I can't work out...Dutton has it and has been to a cabinet meeting. The gestation period, before showing symptoms but still capable of infecting others is at least 14 days. The CMO gives advice that Scomo and his fellow cabinet ministers don't need to self-isolate. Pay for the advice you want to receive?

Some info on how the Crows are dealing with the issue From the CEO
As you are aware, the coronavirus is having a significant impact across the globe and affecting our day-to-day lives. With this in mind, it is not surprising the entire AFL industry has entered an extraordinarily challenging and unprecedented period.

We are extremely disappointed that you will not be able to attend our men’s and women’s games for the foreseeable future, but we do support the League in acting on the Federal Government’s recommendations about mass gatherings. I am sure you also understand our Club, and the broader football industry, has a responsibility to look after the health and safety of our players, coaches, staff, members, fans and community.

Like other clubs, we will continue to take advice from the AFL, government and medical experts and their informed opinions will shape our decision making. Quite a few of you have contacted us with questions and we are trying to answer as many of them as possible. However, as you can appreciate this is an ever-changing situation where information can be superseded from one hour to the next. It will take some time to gain a full understanding of what these latest developments mean for fans, corporate partners and coteries, among other stakeholders. Rest assured we will continue to keep you informed as best we can.

The Club’s website and social media channels will also provide informative and entertaining content involving both our men’s and women’s players so you can stay up to speed with what is going on inside our West Lakes headquarters.

We have taken a range of precautionary measures to safeguard our players and coaches as best we can from the coronavirus pandemic. Access to our football department has been restricted with administration staff only entering the area for essential reasons, instead using technology to avoid face-to-face meetings. We have also postponed a number of school coaching clinics scheduled for today, with a view to having our players meet with those students later in the year, while our school programs like Growing with Gratitude have also been put on hold.

These are clearly trying times but as has been proven in the past, the Crows family sticks together in the face of adversity. This has always made me incredibly proud. Your ongoing support and understanding is greatly appreciated and I look forward to seeing you at the footy as soon as possible. Please stay safe and as always, We Fly As One.

Cheers,

Fages

So if you are a VIP then you are immune to infection? Is this what is being said?
Dutton disagrees.

Well looking at our own backyard is most relevant to us (you, me, AFC).
We need to see it from both angles to better understand the nature of the bug:
- how many are getting it?
- how many are having detrimental effects with it?
This is what we all should be asking ourselves of all infections in general, be it common cold, Hepatitis, HIV etc.

Extremely selfish too.

ScoMo keeps demonstrating he does not have the necessary make up to be a leader.

This is why the policy of “if we don’t test, we can frame it as:

1) a foreign virus (like viruses now have nationalities)

2) everything is under control

3) I can look good politically“

is an effing disaster for ALL of us

Without adequate objective numbers NOBODY can answer these questions.

That is the irony of the dim bulb in the WH

He thinks suppressing information is good so he doesnt look incompetent

Fact is if we knew 2M Americans have it and 200 died, it calms everyone the hell down

But you can’t teach stupid
