Nathan Krakouer possibly heading home

He has 2 years left under contract to Port.

So unless Port are massive winners of any trade, he'll be staying at Port for at least the next 2 seasons.

That is pretty much the end of the story.

Mouthwatering?

I assume you've seen him play in the SANFL then?

Hasnt been that good from the glimpse I have seen in the AFL tbh.

Yeah, even in the AFL, I've seen him do a few ridiculous things. He's obviously a class above when he plays in the SANFL.

I really hope he stays. I've had high hopes for all our draftees in 2006.

In any case, I hope Krak reaches his potential and a few doubters remember this thread.

Let's hope not as disappointed as west coast was for what they got for Judd.
Yeah - what's your point?

The value of what WC got in return can't yet be determined.

If Masten, Kennedy and Notte all play 200 games, the trade might look OK.

And even if WC did get screwed, I don't see the relevance to Nathan Krakouer. Or are you just trying to make it about WC rather than offering something sensible on the topic at hand?

When has 240volt ever offered a sensible post for us to read ?

The difference is that Adelaide doesnt want Carr. Freo and West Coast would both want Krakour.

An auction with two bidders will get you a much higher price than an auction with one.
WCE dont want him!
What would give you that idea?
He shit thats why we didnt draft him!
It only took you 2 years to figure out that the 3rd round pick you used was waisted and now your trying to sell him off as Gold.
Round 3 pick 39 is what he was drafted at, You would be lucky if you got offered a pick under 45 as he is no good.

In a Draft that had slim pickings he went late 3rd round says alot about his ability.

What has what pick he went at to do with what value he is now?James Hird was pick 79, but he would have never made it in the ROYAL DYNASTY EAGLE'S:rolleyes:

That is your opinion and you are welcome to it.
No shit.

Have you got any other pearls of wisdom?

I think we will get a decent offer as he is a real talent and both clubs will want him.
Depends what you think constitutes "a decent offer".

You won't get West Coast's pick 20.

Don't know what else you think will be in the mix from the Eagles.

you should be indicted for crimes against idiocy...

Then he'll stay here...
Remember - we don't have to trade him.
Cool - keep him.

You'll have a problem if he totally drops his bundle and demands to be traded, but I'd be happy to see clubs tell players like that to pull their shit together and stop sooking.

He signed a contract. He should honour it.

You truly are an idiot.

It depends how desperately Krakouer wants to leave.

Good luck to Port if they tell him, "bad luck, you're staying".

So they then carry him on their list for a year or send him home for a bit ....if they rate him and we offer rubbish - why do they have to trade him this year?

In 2009 he is hardly a 22 game player.

I'm over this argument.

Hird was drafted in an era where drafting hadn't really become a 'science'. The 'error rate' was much much higher and it was significantly easier to pick up a star with a late selection.

With all the attention on young players these days, I think the chances of getting a player of the ilk of Hird with Pick 79 would be in the vacinity of 5/100.

The Hird example people keep bringing up is a wrong one. He was drafted by Essendon through a loophole as at the time, NSW/ACT kids had to be over 19 and unwanted by the Swans to be available for drafting by another club.

I'd be surprised if the Eagles picked him up, too much off field risk IMO. Just look at the family history. Last year the ex Richmond Krakouer found guilty of serious assault charge, I understand he got time. Ex North Melbourne Krakouer, found guilty of dealing drugs, again spent time in jail.

Several posters have mention it would be better for his footy if he stayed away from his families off field influences. If this guy was playing AFL in Perth surrounded by all his extended family he'd be a king, does he have the character to avoid the pitfalls of fame and fortune? Massive risk IMO.

The eagles are still in the sights of the AFL and can't afford another off field incident.
