Yeah , im not an expert on trading picks ect but it looks like we have taken a gamble those two don't go early

If the worst happens and both NGA's go first round we could package our late picks with the Giants so they can match for their academy pick. Maybe a future second. Doesn't help us this year but it gets us some value back.

Find me a phantom by anyone* who has chosen both those players to go top 20.

* If you make a phantom just to prove me wrong it doesn't count.

Nightmare had one of them at 11 , Im not saying its going to happen so no need to get all nancy , just saying its a gamble .
Had you ever heard of Allison before we drafted him , Stranger things have happened

We have no picks between 9 and 62. If we miss on Owens and Windhager because they go top 20 (Not saying they will), then we have to wait til the 4th round to strike again.

it could be a massive kick in the teeth.
There's an extreme outside chance that one of them goes top 20 but not both.
We have greater worries than this situation.

Don’t we have to take three in the draft? Or is that just across the whole list?

Yeah we do. We shouldn't be worrying about BOTH NGA's going top 20. And should only be mildly concerned about one of them going top 20.

What do you mean greater worries ? Yes we need to nail our first pick , i think we really need to try and find Josh a new home if we can get a pick 20-25 for him

Jesus I didn't know Knevitt was so athletically gifted as well. He's looking more appealing by the minute. I thought Serong's brother was in next years draft. There are some good players in that VC squad.

I meant it as a generalism. I'm more concerned about continental drift than l am this NGA thing. IMO there's not a snowballs chance one of them goes top 20 and peeps be torturing themselves even thinking about it.
Batts is a difficult one. Surely next season he plays in the backline and we'll get better from him. It could even raise his value.

It just bothers me a bit to offload Batts or Long this year as their on 56 and 60 games and have been significantly messed around the whole time. Put to proper use l still see either of them as a potential weapon.

I understand the need/want for an elite mid, but given the compromised position of this draft, there IS greater scope to pick a gem up with a mid to late first which is why I'd be looking at splitting 11 with Brisbane (I'm not sure what the exact deal looks like). Given what the "experts" are saying with their phantom drafts, there is every chance we could end up with 2 of Knivett, Goater, Chesser, Sinn, Butler etc... plus 1-2 of Owens and Windhager. That's a pretty decent haul in my book.

I really don't want us to do much.
If we can get the ruckman for a future third and walk away from the draft with our first round choice and 2 NGA's as second round picks, i'll be happy as a pig in the proverbial.
I agree. And as I've said before Sharman and Heath are virtually new recruits this year. Not a bad group to add to our list.
