Checkout some of the images here from the club's final design article from July which gives a good indication of how the re-aligned oval will look with the heritage grandstands.
I wonder how we chose which sports teams facilitates to look at ?

I would have thought so top end Soccer clubs would have been useful too.

Its a good question, mind you some of the biggest football clubs around the world have surprisingly old facilities.

Still waiting 1970 Crow.

Surely it can’t be that hard since you have already re-read the 2019 annual report.

Do you still maintain that there is no way we will be able to borrow the funds for a new facility?
let it go GIF

I reckon we did in the very early stages, even before Thebby was mentioned.

Its our ground, we should be able to play there given how much money we've handed the SANFL
Maybe, we would have to change our agreement with the SANFL in which we play all games bar vs Port as the away side.
Believe the only other times we've been the 'home' team is if we've purchased a game from a SANFL side?

They won't talk openly about SANFL home games there until the facility is done and they're in a good position to corner the SANFL over a new agreement, or they get their first preference and the AFL gives in and re-establishes a national reserves comp, which isn't all that likely currently.

Any early talk will just rile up the SANFL unnecessarily

I think if the club asked for their SANFL matches to be played at Thebby most of the other clubs wouldn't object.

Our games are generally the smallest in terms of revenue for the clubs, and as we've seen in recent years, we've had 3-4 matches each year either in country areas or Adelaide Oval.

The only club who seems to get a good crowd vs Adelaide was surprisingly Woodville-West Torrens. They would make it their family day and for a club that normally gets ~1,800, they'd bring in ~5,000.

And about 3000 would be exiting the gate with their mums once the parade was over, prior to the league game starting. It was a good idea, but very misleading figures.
