Except dedication, the ability to take any criticism and play any position other than full forward.
.

He was pretty undisciplined early on, and it probably cost him a few years at the highest level as he didn't really hit his straps until about 23.

And yes, he was like a fish out of water away from FF. Most conventional FFs were though, so he wasn't alone in that regard.

Modra held the bench press record for a long time. Would think someone else would have it now.

The story goes he would just come in anytime someone was close to beating it and lift the bar a bit higher, so to speak.

I believe one M Riccutio held it for a long time as well.

I know this is tongue in cheek, but it's worth a comment.

Having a muscle-bound group is half about training, half about the players you recruit.

David MacKay and VB are never going to look like Thommo - ever. And no amount of training will make them look like Thommo.

Putting on a little bit of size is great, but it's a balance. MacKay's strengths as a player are directly at odds with putting on a lot of size.

Of course, everyone is cut from a different mould. You'd assume we wouldn't have a blanket training plan or set of benchmarks for all players to meet across the board fitness/strength-wise.

I think mackay needed a bit more on him. Vince too, and definition. But let's face it, we aren't looking at Josh Hunts here.

In a completely hetero way, it excites me to see put players benefit so noticeably, so quickly from a change here and there.

I wanna be there when Hendo and Truck square off in the ring too, by the way...:D

an Engulfment of Thommos?
a Formation of Thommos?
a Blitzkreig of Thommos?
a Tenacity of Thommos?

My favorite thus far is 'a Murder of Thommos'
