From Sydney Johnstone seems the only likely possibility, with Veszpremi a chance for a nomination.

Veszpremi is a good chance to get a nomination and win the rising star award.

I love the fact that we drafted Johnston and i think in the future he has the ability to be one of the best forwards in the comp. However as a bottom aged player that was drafted (Last year he was playing U/17 in adelaide and played a couple of ressies games) and being a key forward i am not sure if he will even play a game for the swans next year. The Swans are also renowned for playing draftees (Bird was an exception however he played a year for the swans reserves team before he was drafted, he was allowed to because he was a swans scholarship holder)

I think if he plays next year it will be late in the season, therefore i think he might win the 2010 rising star award but not the 2009 award.
