It would make sense for Panton Hill to come up IMO appear to be in the healthiest position financially to compete
You would think they would tell panton Hill to stay up and lalor to go down. But then reservoir would not be happy as they wouldn’t let them do it 2 years ago

If no one comes up would that mean no team in div 2 gets relegated? Can’t see anyone coming up as teams like Panton Hill have recruited for a div 3 flag over the summer and now will be probably the worst in the comp if promoted

Div 2 would have to be 19 weeks to accomodate the 3 byes. Will have to start a week earlier or play over the queens birthday weekend.

7 and 10 by far the best scenario. Completely unfair for a club that’s planned their entire off-season around competing in Division 3 to be all of a sudden thrust back into Division 2. Utilise the QB weekend if they need to accomodate another round for Division 2 - teams will get multiple byes anyway. It’s the best and fairest outcome in a less than desirable situation.

Lalor down, nobody up.
7 teams in div 2
10 teams in div 3
2 teams promoted from div3 at season end
No teams relegated from div2.
Expect the same scenario regarding promotion to happen in 2019.
Creating a 10/10/7 set up with at least one more team to enter NFL in 2 years time

Still a bad scenario for whoever loses the division 3 grand final having to go up.

Why would the league do anything that Lalor want when they have repeatedly held money on players and are currently in debt to the league as well as some of the clubs suppliers.
Why reward bad behaviour.

A. None of the leagues business player payments

B. They want to see clubs survive. If they are in debt they aren't going to get out getting thumped by 200 points in division 2.

You answered your own question here, NFL is a business and if it is owed money by clubs it will do what it takes to keep its business healthy and have debts paid.

Lalor was asked by the NFL last October do they want to go to Div 3 and their new committee said NO as they believe they could survive in Div 2. I think going to Div 3 will be the best for the survival of the club

Do you think the bloke that went there to play and didn't get paid care ?
Does the NFL want there money ?
Is the whole of Div3 gunna get interrupted for the sake of 1 club gunna help Lalor ?
Get serious NFL
Stop being the 4 best comp in Melb and get back to the days of being revered

If Division 2 runs as a 7 team competition, it will just prove what a piss weak organisation the NFL really is. To have more teams in division 3, is a absolute joke, time to make some hard calls McDougall.

Are you serious or are new to the comp? The same thing happened two years ago when Reservoir went into recess after they won the 2015 Div 3 flag. Have some compassion for the plight of Lalor! The NFL isn't to blame here we have a club that is struggling to survive and the best way for them to survive and to continue as a football club is to go to Div 3
