No it doesn’t, not entirely ... there are 25-26 Kilmore kids (ex juniors from the past 2 years) that I’m aware of playing football somewhere in 2018. No doubt there’s a few more too that went out to Wandong etc recently not even playing.

I heard a good one yesty about some young blokes not playing at Kilmore because of their “parents”personal perception on the senior club.
Mind you they’ve never set foot in the joint on a Satdy arvo, or attended anything to know one thing about the senior body.

That’s the real shame .... unwarranted perception which is a slap in the chops to president Mahery, Nathan the coach and everyone else choosing to drive into Clancy Reserve for their local footy/community fix.

Perhaps the behaviour down at heidy west by some supporters is having some after affects?? I know they were told to piss off but sometimes it only takes something like that if they are tossing up where they want their kids to play

They will hang around ( the young kids )IF you play them ......... in the passed a few young kids have walked away from the club ....for not getting ago ..... let’s hope this coach is prepared to play them & keep playing .....

How did you go playing the young kids at Mernda? Must’ve become a St Marys man when they decided to give you the arse as Senior Coach last year? Hmmm

Nah, because most from the juniors wouldn’t know what occurs, let alone recognise a senior premiership player, past official or club stalwart if they crossed em in Sydney Street .... for me that’s sad.
As a kid I couldn’t get enough info or knowledge on my home towns sporting history, it’s photos, honourboards etc. something you simply don’t see kids doing these days. Bugger all kids at games, Christ I remember we’d get 20 going goal to goals, running water, and if a senior player said thanks for a cut up orange or chewy it would be the highlight of your Saturday.

some are 3-5 years out now and still casting aspersions on baseless perceptions which is a bloody shame, coz in their absence these people are having an impact on the club without realising.

By the sounds of it Doona it doesn’t sound like they are casting aspersions at all. However It reflects on the generation more so in my opinion. Our junior club have a tremendous relationship with the senior club due to hard work and a set of values we uphold.

I understand opinions are like ar$eholes we all have them, but when comments are made by folk who have no actually evidence, experience or first hand knowledge on what they're commenting about thats what $hits me.

Anyway we do what we can, when we can. I wish I could be more hands on at present but I can't, club going ok which is a credit to those Kilmore folk digging in.

Agree Doona, I think is an easy out to blame school footy

You are spot on Doona. I have heard the same comments from people who have not set foot at JJ Clancy Reserve for years. They are basing their views on events from years ago and don't realise that the current relationship between the junior and senior clubs is exceptional at the moment. The current treasurer of the senior club is coaching a junior girls team, assisted by the previous senior President. A current senior committee member and three time premiership player is assistant coach of the under 17's, even though he hasn't got a kid playing. I even saw the current senior President performing the role of umpire escort at the under 17 match in Wallan yesterday. The junior President's son who is playing for ACK this year played for Kilmore reserves on the weekend. Things look pretty good between the two clubs to me.

This is my 2nd year down following Kilmore and from what I've seen the club and its supporters have been fantastic and I have been met with nothing but nice from everyone down there.
I think it's a great club run by great people and I'm happy to be supporting Kilmore and happy my brother is playing for a great club with great people.

The people still bagging the club for the past should get their arses down there and have another look then they will quickly pull their heads in. It's a shame this dribble looks to have affected the 19s.

South to roll Lalor by 10 goals

Mernda over laurimar by 5 points

St Mary’s over Kilmore by 10 goals

Panton Hill to beat West by 5 goals

Morang by 2 goals
Lauimar by 3 goals
Kilmore to cause the upset of the round
By 3 points
Panton hill by a goal

Morang by 10 pts Great to see the young Morang kids take it up to Mernda last week. And Lalor gave Burra a shake for a half. This should be great contest
Mernda by 18 Demons will want to get back on track on their home ground this week. Sherman's side may take a few weeks to settle - lots of turnovers last week. It is hard to work out if just the conditions or poor skills. They get the opportunity to show us in near perfect conditions tomorrow.
Burra by 32 SM should account for Kilmore on home ground, but I think Blues will go with them for a fair way
Hill by 17 I think West will re-group and put up a better effort this week. Expect a solid encounter, but Redbacks over the line at home

Perfect conditions will give us a true reflection of teams standing

South by 27 points
Mernda by 18 points
St Mary’s By 33 Points
PH by 44 points

Only 3 rounds in. I think there's still a long way to go. I wouldn't write off West just yet. On the face of it they look gone, but only played 2 games and might be some contributing factors to the performances. Possibly give them another 2-3 games to evaluate where they are at. Bentley should come into seniors this week. Morang are the ones playing above expectations. Great to see them having a crack. They will be up there. Kilmore will also worry some if they keep everyone on the park.
After 3 rounds, I would go with -

1. St Marys Lock in top spot
2. Panton Hill
3. Mernda

4 / 5. South Morang / Heidelberg West

6. Kilmore

Injuries will hurt most teams. Panton Hill, Kilmore and Mernda reserves don't look to have good cover so these teams will want to make sure they can stay relatively injury free all season or else they could be exposed.
