Fadge it's a simple task, post some footage like we've seen of Daicos or stop claiming it as reality.

The deliberate in the last quarter was a pretty ordinary effort. Rather than turn back into play and embrace contact, ran it over (un)intentionally and rightly called deliberate

Just out of interest how do you rate Sheezel v Daicos?

As each round passes, it's becoming clearer who will have a genuine and lasting impact for their respective team.

Ironic coming from someone who claims to be neutral but genuinely doesn't think Daicos ducks and dives for free kicks.

I've already said it dozens of times, I made this username after Walsh's first ever practice game vs the Hawks for us. Don't think I've ever seriously claimed he could be the greatest player of all time like some of the spatulas in here have done with Nicky.

So if a Swans supporter says Goatie isn't in the conversation, the rebuttal will be " but better than swans player X"?

This thread is embarrassing, he’s the biggest squib going around he absolutely hates any contact. It’s been like that since he entered the afl and will be this way throughout his whole career.

Give me a tough player like Walsh or Gulden that get their hands dirty and can win a hard ball any day

This thread is about a poster making an assertion that Daicos WILL be the GOAT, surpassing his subjective list of the greatest 50 of all time.

Waving a red flag at a bull, especially when the OP vehemently defends Daicos after being openly criticised for his recent on field performance

But if posters want to start these threads on the main board and expect that everyone will unquestionably agree, this ain’t the place for it.

There’s something said about these types of threads, wait until a player has racked up a few more credits before starting them

Credibility would entail you providing evidence of another player diving, which you have been asked numerous times to provide and yet to do so

Contested possessions are obviously slightly different to squibbing a contest but point remains that he goes more often than not when it is his turn

So 3 players to limit a 21 year old to 31 possessions. Imagine how good he's going to be with another couple of pre-seasons under his belt?

To be fair the question posed by this thread is "Can he be GOAT?". Fadge started the thread, asked the question and responded he thought he will definitely be GOAT. A bold and too early call for mine but an opinion. Clearly the question this thread asks is "can he be"

Its early no doubt but I feel reasonable based on his career start. Perhaps it would have been less controversial to ask has any modern player, say 1970s on (liberal definition), has a career start like Daicos. I would say no one has been better. ArrOw has had a go at that nominating Sheezel as statistically better. So if he has been the best career start of the modern era or is in that discussion it flows naturally to can he maintain that and get into the GOAT argument.

Its a pretty good thread judging by the amount of comment generated. The Carlton opposition to this makes it even more so. "They doth protest too much" which makes you know they know its a fair question they just want it not to be so. Anyway maybe we should tone it down a little and say ND is on course to become Collingwoods greatest ever player and that would be a pretty worthy achievement.

Notwithstanding the fact we have had multiple media personalities and sites asking the exact same question over the course of this season - 'Can he be the greatest player of all time'.
