and when questioned Nick said it was just a precautionary scan...

Yeah, but he thought he had recovered from the injury, but two weeks later he's still feeling the effects from it, he went to have a scan, it's not good news, there are reports that it will turn out to be devastating news for Carlton and he could be out for the season

source?

EDIT: fill us in what did they say on the news? how bad is it? how did it happen? etc etc

They just mentioned it was from a clash against Richmond two weeks ago, and that he thought he had recovered from it, but was still feeling the effects of a sore neck.

He went to see a neurosurgeon today and will get the full results later tonight, there wasn't much more they could say about it. Nobody reallys knows what to expect here..

bad news. Not long ago in the herald sun buckley was writing up about what club would miss what person the most. Nick stevens was carlton.

hopefully he will be right but i wouldnt take him over to west coast. Would play a anderson or blackwell. Prefer ando as he has got speed. thats IMHO.

Play gibbs in the midfield this week to.

Also the footage of stevens he didnt look to upset.

Please keep as posted on what Sevens says on the couch tonight to plz. Dont have pay tv.

i think this thread is going to escalate so quickly .. hopefully stevens is alright , didnt look like he was injured hopefully he isnt out for the year .. and hopefully he is ok to take on the weagles this week as we really need him good luck stevo !

Hopefully this report's false.

It certainly wasn't mentioned in the injury list quoted tonight on the clubs website:

Clinton Benjamin - Quad – available
Cameron Cloke – Slight concussion – available
Shaun Grigg - Fractured left shoulder – 7-9 weeks
Sam Jacobs - Left knee hyperextension – 1-2 weeks
Anthony Koutoufides - Ruptured finger tendon – 4-5 weeks
Anthony Raso - Left wrist – available

Bad news for the club. I'm sure if anything, it will heighten the feelings around the club, not dampen them. By this i mean, Stevens' career may be on the line, certainly this year, and it may make the kids realise how quickly a career can be over, to make the most of what they have and always do their best.

Oh god-really not what we need.

Hope he is OK, and manages to get out on the park.

Having said that, if he isn't feeling OK, he should NOT play against the Eagles.

Neck injuries should not be ****ed with-his health is of utmost importance, and should be priority number 1.

Hopefully we see him back fully fit sooner rather than later.

Watching a replay just before to see how he looked during the game... he was fine!!!

Could be anything...

I don't think his career would be over... perhaps a few weeks of rest???

If (knock on wood) it is serious.... it's time to bankroll Judd as a perfect replacement.

Hope you're ok Nick.

He suffered a neck injury last year, and I have no doubt he had an MRI at the time, so presumably it was just sprained. He's probably having another MRI to make sure nothing serious has developed like a hairline fracture or disc prolapse, as these would most likely require surgery. :)
