I was comfortable with the Daniher free. You can’t just take a bloke out of the contest and not touch the ball. It only feels controversial because of the consequence. If it was just Tarrant and Daniher with no-one else around then people would see it as an obvious free I think.

Nah that was a shocker IMO, would want to watch it again as I only saw a brief replay but that was not unrealistic he had every right to go for that - only reason he didn’t touch it is because his teammate marked it, if it was just those two he would have touched the ball. Ya can’t be having that paid as a free against in our game if you want people flying for marks.

It’s no different to a normal pack mark situation that happens 30 times a game, 5 blokes fly for it 1 marks it and the rest don’t get hands on the ball and take each other out - they can’t be called unrealistic attempts just because somebody else had a better attempt if that makes sense

In regards to the Lynch one of course we’d love the umps to make the right decisions but this **** up actually led to the right outcome which is all that matters - it’s not like an umpiring mistake cost them the game, Lynch missing lost them the game
