Frustrating to think that we should have beaten both Port and Geelong
I am always double taking in my mind about our club.

Should've won these big games. Got ourselves in the best position possible too but didn't.

Are we really that bad? We could be really close just missing the last pieces? Or is it possible that we won't peak until it matters.

Then I think we are just shit.

Imagine how bad we'd s**t the bed if we had to play off against Geelong in Geelong for a finals birth in the last round.

At least none of us would get tickets so we wouldn’t have to do the walk of shame !!

Commentators have called Port as the premiers, season over everyone else. Only mid season, but time for planning on 2024 for 17 other clubs now

We didn’t kick a goal for the final 40 mins of game time against Geelong and were chasing Port most of the night. Similarly Gold Coast out played us after the 20 mins mark of the first quarter. All 3 were deserved losses.

Burton, McKenzie, Farrell, Houston, Aliir, Bergman, Williams

Ports back 7. All technically sound, consistent users of the footy.

Of all players we have had running through our back 7, only Dale and Daniel would have claim to be better kicks than some of the above. Richards, Doc and JJ maybe on par at best with some of them. The rest not really anywhere near it.

Except Bergman. He kicks it like Baker

Looking at that back 7, the only one that is a proper kpd size is Aliir, and he got towelled up by Josh Schache when it mattered in a PF. Couldl be interesting come September.

We were ok, not great. Still think we're a 40-60 in finals against them with Ed and JJ back
Don't disagree we were not bad, but we are heavily dependant on too many. Yes we should have Ed and JJ back but it will be a miracle if we have no one else out of our best 15 by then

Not really.

Superheroes in home and away. Coached by diet coke Ken
Is Ken actually coaching them? From the bench? I think Port have quietly rearranged their coaching panel after the showdown loss and someone else is pulling the strings... from the coaching box.

I literally don’t understand the push in the back rules. Berry there for the Lions just got away with one that Tom Hawkins would have been proud of. Not hands out protecting space, just a blatant two handed push in the back in the marking contest.

Forwards kick goals. Goals mean ad breaks. Ad breaks mean $.

The game long ago sold its soul to the glowing screen against the wall.
