We did not lose much when Lipinski chose the Pies

It's not like McComb has been an upgrade. There's no point in getting rid of players with limited potential if you don't replace them with someone better. Lipinski could still get a game for us.

Rubbish, who is he getting a game ahead of? Mc Comb is not even close to best 22 now

Not worthy of an all week talk, that was a correct call of a blatant deliberate (“insufficient intent”). He’s butchered it when he’s had it so far, the Bont/Daicos Brownlow battle will be intriguing but also depends how the final rounds go down. If anyone else wins it, it’s a joke

Did you see the McKenzie one at the other end?

Freo are an absolute joke. There’s no way they should be this bad.

At least they can get a decent player with their high draft pick though……….

Youngest side in the comp I think.

But they shouldn’t be getting spanked on a weekly basis like they have been, side is good on paper. Haven’t seen many of their games of late admittedly.

Seems like they're completely lost without Darcy, Jackson is completely out of sorts lately.

I’m not watching that game, watching the good one.

Darcy has only missed this week and they’ve been god awful for about 7 now. Would’ve expected Jackson to put up an English like performance against McLean and Amartey so it’d be disappointing if he isn’t taking advantage tonight

I’m out half watching it, but I think it was fairly identical? Maybe worse, I think he was sliding and just hit it out and it wasn’t called? Wrong decision if it was, but like I said I half half an eye on it

Not necessarily. Tom Boyd and Jeremy Cameron say hi.

You don't throw the sink to get a ruckman though.
Jeremy Cameron was picked up by the sink thrown at them for Tim Kelly from West Coast.

We only gave up 1 first round pick for Boyd, Griffin was gone so no disagree with those 2

I'm not watching that game either.
Darcy got injured early against Melbourne before the bye they ended up winning by a goal. He then missed a close loss to tigers and an 11 goal loss to GWS. Jackson was serviceable in both those games but he didn't really seem to gel with the mids.
The next week against the bombers Jackson picked up a quad niggle. Only had 9 Ruck contests against us the following week and largely unsighted.
Then against blues and Pies both 50 point losses he rucked closer to his usual numbers. Didn't set the world alight against Young and had a better game against Pies.

Looking back on those games it was probably a sputtering forward line that hurt early, then losing Darcy and now some injuries to defence.

Butters has had a quiet few weeks. As has Bont. I reckon Daicos has a decent lead unfortunately. Don't rule out Petracca, I reckon he is a strong chance as well. Bont will need a huge finish, and for Daicos to actually be tagged in final rounds to have a chance.

I know a decent percentage of AFL players don’t watch much footy. I disagree with that, as I don’t think a professional athlete can have enough data to improve their performance, but that’s up to them.

But if any of our list are not watching the pies v port game then they should be ashamed of themselves. It’s not perfect footy, the game itself hasn’t had much in the way of elite performance, but the effort and the desire to take the game on is enlightening.

This is one of the best games I've seen. Absolute manic intensity from both teams for the full duration of the game. Pressure through the rough. Both teams just going hell for leather both offensively and defensively. Nothing is coming easily or cheaply.

It’s enlightening. The difference between this game and even the best of the non top four teams is stark imo.

Everyone who makes finals has a chance, but it’s likely that the premier will need to beat one or both of port and the pies ( if neither of them win it).

And in a classic piece of dud programming, we ACT residents are deemed to be Swans fans (🤮) so the FTA broadcast is the non-event between Freo and the Swans. Never mind the fact that the two outstanding sides this year (and grand finalists presumptive) are playing a thriller at the same time.

We usually get the QLD game…. Which is usually a boring affair. Happy to see a good one for once.

That’s the thing, if the umps are decent I don’t think he’s got a big lead at all. Not looking to be critical, but some games he racked up big numbers without being directly influential. He might not get 3-vote games for some of his 30+ touches, but if he does it’s game over. He barely been tagged, but when he has been, he’s been a normie

Brilliant game.
