No wonder he was so mouthy after that meaningless Hawthorn win. That win saved his job and guaranteed him another $800k to invest into his greyhound syndicate 🤣🤣🤣
Its funny as **** seeing that Chewy bloke lead them all on this long

I did pop in there for a few lols. Some of them were trying to rationalise Ken’s interview today as trying to ‘pitch’ for his job and that there is still a chance things could change.

Seems a bit wishful thinking… It would be a huge about-face for him to walk away and likewise the board reneging on the contract (and how the heck could they afford it)!

Bless Ken, he’s a survivor ☺️

What in the world do our neighbors do down the road?

On the one hand - they have to keep going. Made the finals 4 out of 5 years with ladder positions of 1,2,11,3,2. They are in a window to challenge again for another flag in 2025. Houston will be a loss, but Luko will be a great 2nd forward addition and is a harder position to fill than a rebounding half back.

Their losses in the finals were significant, but then again look at Brisbane's across 4 finals seasons from 2019 - 2022.

2019 - Finish 2nd - loss home QF by 47. Lose home SF by 3
2020 - Finish 2nd- Win home QF by 15. Lose home prelim by 40
2021 - Finish 4th- Lose neutral QF by 33. Lose home SF by 1
2022 - Finish 6th - Win home EF by 2, Win home SF by 3, Lose prelim by 71.

The size of the losses by Port in the finals are the biggest concern. They have averaged losses by 50+ points. The Lions also looked shocking in finals against top teams losing by 71,33, 40 and 47.

Are they close enough and just need to keep plugging and away and hope that a good run of form towards the end of the season is enough. Getting rid of Ken - does it destabilize what is clearly a top 4 list? Getting rid of Ken - does it bring in someone with a new way to approach finals and change their finals form.

Tough to know what is the right answer IMO.

Ken is no Fagan.

Brisbane "finally" breaking through has given them all a "hang on a sec" moment also. 😂

Some also think he's going to be like Choco and finally get there and stick it up em. Tredrea thinks that, heard him numerous times bring up everyone saying these mean things with Choco and they finally won it.

Small problem is Brisbane are far better and they weren't having a go for 12 years. It was a building process across approximately 6 years, not really a "finally" moment.

One crack at it Fagan has had and he got there. Unlike Ken multiple times over 12 years with different playing groups.

It's a bit sad that the high points of our season have all happened since we stopped playing.
We're the new Carlton?

Been a great off season though. We had to balance our list and bring in some mature guys to cover the draft picks who haven't work out/come on. There was a clear void and some of our older guys are starting to struggle or very close to the end.

We better make the most of it then!
Agreed. Burgess likely gone end of 2025.

Strong rumours he wanted back to MLB recently combined with this new business, the plethora of new additions to our fitness and conditioning team (seems to be OTT and bringing in someone to completely replace Burgess in 12 mths) and historically he doesn’t hang around jobs for long.

The good thing with Burgo is he generally always trains someone up well enough to take over.
