The "We Fly As One" branding came in 2015 at the same time as Phil Walsh started coaching us. I don't think we were divided then.

Listening to the Sounding Board podcast this week and Hutchy actually said 'Tom Browne is one of the best going around and doesn't get much wrong', while using audio of an instance where he got something wrong (saying that Walsh would play round one a couple of weeks back). Hutchy basically runs AFL Media, so no wonder we are stuck with these hacks when the boss thinks they are all great.
This is the same Tom Browne that has banned Twitter comments because of the crap he posts and the replies he gets to them.

It's because being right or wrong is completely irrelevant. If they create content that attracts attention, then job done. Truth is optional in Hutchy's eyes.
Thing is, Hutchy actually said that he thinks Tom Browne gets most things right. I mean, surely even Hutchy knows how low the opinion of Tom Browne is from the general footy public? There is a parody account with more followers ffs!

The Mighty Ducks were using "Ducks Fly Together" back in the early 90s. It's not really a unique concept.
This is why I don't partake in any AFL media.
The game is so much more enjoyable just watching games.

I listened to a podcast episode a while ago where they discussed the history of tabloids and how mainstream media took on that ethos.
Basically comes down to advertising revenue. You dumb down the media, increase the market base and revenues go up. Even easier with multi platforms.
