Going to be very interesting listening to Rowie this arvo, he loves Ken but how can he defend last nights result and Kens comments afterwards?

I keep saying but the reason Ken "sounds" like he knows what he's talking about is because he talks fast, he bewilders them. He's what we know in sitcom circles as a Fast Talker

As opposed to the low talker

Blake Caracella has said that being a senior coach is now on his radar

Tell me that Port board members aren’t looking at him

And he’s a stupid w***er, he said last night he they got 2 first rounders for Ladhams, no they didn’t, they moved up their first slightly
I heard that, was waiting for someone to correct him but nothing

One of the most sensible things ever written on the Port board:

“The thing with these finals appearances/top 4 finishes - were they ever taken seriously?

Like did anyone ever actually rate Port Adelaide as a legitimate premiership threat?

The answer is no, because Port Adelaide has always been unreliable against top 4 teams in the Hinkley-era. The media chooses to ignore this now to defend old mate gollum”

They didn’t kick their second goal until 8 minutes before the end

One goal in all but 8 minutes of a full game of football. But Kenny thinks they went ok.

Jesus Mary and Joseph
So most of the crowd only saw 1 goal...

I can't see Ports problems going away.

Finals are 100% out of the question now. There is no way the inclusion of Dixon, McKenzie, Gray, Fantasia and Aliir will turn around the season into a finals winning one. For Port just to make finals, they will need to win 13 of their remaining 18 games. That includes playing Carlton, St Kilda, Geelong, Richmond, Fremantle, Melbourne, Essendon, North Melbourne and Collingwood away. They would have to win every home game from here and win at least 4 of these away games.

Should win: North Melbourne
50/50: Essendon, St Kilda, Richmond, Fremantle, Collingwood, Carlton
No Chance: Geelong, Melbourne

Home games
West Coast, Western Bulldogs, Essendon, Sydney, Gold Coast, GWS, Geelong, Richmond, Adelaide

Should win: Gold Coast
50/50: West Coast, Essendon, Sydney, GWS, Richmond, Adelaide
No Chance: Western Bulldogs, Geelong

Its a tough draw. I am going to call it, 8 wins maximum.
Their finals chances are completely cooked.

It's now a question of whether they finish ahead of us.

What do we prefer... given we are in rebuild mode, better if they do finish above us so we access talent before them.

Ollie Wines still in hospital with an irregular heartbeat found.
Not great news, hope he's ok.
Was looking very unwell.

Glad they acted quickly to sub him off.

Another pearler from Kern.

Reporter, "only 1 team in 32 years has made the finals after starting at 0-4"

Kern, "Well, it will be 2 teams after this year"
Yeah, nah.

Read a long rant from a Port mate today. In short never been a coach who has lost the supporters more... & doubts their crowds will get above 20K for rest of the year.

Any competent coach will be very concern that an opposition can easily beat you by just playing 7-8 minutes of football, yet he somehow used this as spin to his advantage and the journalist didn't question this but shhh........
I used to love it when our team could score heavily quickly as we always had the ability to win from most positions.

Any rebuild is going to be tough for them with only one x top 50 draft pick this year. This was their last chance, it has imploded.

Will need to replace a significant number of players over the next 2-3 years, Boak, Gray, Dixon, Jonas, McKenzie, Motlop, Lycett to name a few.

Safe to say Davies has destroyed their long-term future.

Yep they went all in on assistants and missing pieces the past two years

2020 no shame to lose against Richmond but a home PF in a celebration year, it was their best shot

Last year, Jesus..Kenny all chilled out in the lead up, they’re advertising trips to Perth for the GF, then the game is over before they even touch the ball

Now their good assistants are gone and their players are ageing and injured, and the youngsters have fallen in a hole

Reminds me of Brisbane after winning three flags, Lethal has said they had to decide whether to rebuild or try to squeeze one more flag, which didn’t work

Port had the same decision to make but seems they also chose wrongly

And without the three-peat beforehand 😄
