We don't get a lot of Marvel games these days either.

Prior to Gold Coast entering the competition I'm sure we used to get 6 or 7 a year, I'm sure it's us and the other non-Victorian clubs picking up those away games most years.

This year I think it's 3 or 4 games total.

I used to go to Melbourne 2 or 3 times a year to take in a number of games, obviously including one of ours, and it was great because I'd have half a dozen weekends to choose from so something would work with my schedule and there would be some other good games to choose from.

Now even pre-covid, there might be 1 or 2 weekends that fit with my schedule and maybe 1 of those weekends would have the other games I'd be interested in. I don't really bother.

With Port locking down Azac Day, it seemed like there was a time when we'd usually have a game in Melbourne that weekend. This year? Mars... I'm not Elon Musk, I have no interest going there.

we wanted to go to Melbourne for the weekend this year, only 2 games in Melbourne to choose from being and with the fixture not being set, it makes it harder to go

Yep, have found the same thing with the floating fixture. In principle I don't mind the idea, but when Essendon get 3 Friday night games in a row after their start what's the point?

I'd enjoy watching us play in Perth, Sydney, Brisbane, wherever... But when we do travel interstate to watch a game it's as a "footy trip" so going to 3 or 4 games sort of makes it worthwhile, you don't get that outside of Melbourne.

Out of interest I also had a look at home many games Collingwood, Richmond, Carlton and Essendon have played at Geelong (you know, being a fair national comp and all where all teams get equal treatment) since 1993...Collingwood - 1; Essendon -1; Richmond - 13; Carlton - 5. Meanwhile, we have played 19....

I've taught Cosi's kids tennis before at a School Holiday clinic I definitely had more issues with his wife, she was also arrogant and entitled even threw out "Do you know who my husband is?" Line
"Yeah, he's that fat doofus in the OTR ads."

- Speaking of which: I don't know much about him except for other people's opinions / stories, but just watching the OTR ads makes me cringe. OK, you're getting paid for it, OK, it's your schtik, but my god man, do you have no sense of dignity or self-respect? :p

The floating fixture makes planning footy trips next to impossible in advance.

My partner and I have booked a 4 day trip to Melbourne for the Hawthorn game. What are the odds the pricks at the AFL make it a Thursday night game 🙄

Don’t say that! I’ve done the exact same thing as you. I’m hoping Saturday arvo

She drives that stupid car of theirs with the South Aussie with Cosi logos all over Adelaide and is always parking in disabled spots.

Only 22 available players at WCE. And against the red hot Lions at the Gabba...

This is gonna be a bloodbath. What's the odds of a 150 point margin? Cause i'm taking that action

If this was Melbourne, Collingwood, Geelong (or any Victorian team), the games would be postponed. Absolutely no doubt in my mind.
