im not sure how the other 17 clubs would feel with a club having 22 home games, 11 in Victoria and and 11 in Tasmania

haha what have Tasmania or North Melbourne done to deserve all of this.

I think Eddie wheeled out the same suggestion when they were looking at a Gold Coast team, Collingwood 11 games on the Gold Coast, 11 games in Melbourne, based in Melbourne.

Actually, why don't we play 11 games in Tasmania and 11 in Adelaide. 2 home ground advantages.

Anyway, Tasmania don't want a team that is based in Melbourne for all but 11 days out of the year.

I'm almost certain my following of the Crows would quickly fall off Thebarton and Brompton fell through and we up and moved to Brisbane for all but our 11 home games.

Stupid idea

A hybrid North/Tassie team wouldn't attract any extra support. Tasmanians would just stick with their current clubs

The handful of NM fans would just have a slightly shitter experience than now

And 22 "home" games is dumb.

The 22 home game plan is why I don't get why everyone is always in so much support of Geelong playing all of their home games in Geelong.

The AFL won't miss the opportunity to have Geelong play all of the big Victorian games on the MCG as well.

I'm certain they would almost end up with 11 home games in Geelong and 11 away games on the MCG against Victorian clubs.

Collingwood get 17 home games a year so Eddie probably doesn't realize how idiotic 22 home games is

Any fans that north have around the country won’t get to see them live either, his dumbest idea yet

So how does the AFL then compensate the 11 clubs who will lose a home game each year?

While I am sure they could make it work with the other Vic clubs, for the 8 non Victorian teams is a completely different scenario.

If Tassie & North were happy to merge as such, should be something like as follows...

9 Tasmanian home games
9 Melbourne games (2 home, 7 away - but a deal done with other Victorian clubs to sell some of their seats to North supporters for a game each)
4 Non-Melbourne away games

North would then have increased revenue streams.

Surely if any club was being relocated it'd be one that's actually in deep debt, like St Kilda.

But they'd be better off folding St Kilda altogether, then starting a new team in Tasmania

Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I've always believed that the only reason the big Vic clubs keep the minnow Vic clubs afloat ia to ensure that the Vic clubs hold the controlling interest of the league (currently 10 votes to 8)

I can guarantee that if we ever faced a Super League type scenario only 6 Vic clubs would be included;

Richmond
Carlton
Collingwood
Essendon
Hawthorn
Geelong

Melbourne could also be a possibility as a 7th side, but there's no way that North, St Kilda or the Bulldogs would even be in the equation.

Just fold North/Saints neither of whom have any right in a national comp, I'd add the Dogs and Melbourne to that list but they've finally had some success recently.
Merge North and Stkilda to give Tassie it's own team. They should do it anyway Red, Royal Blue and Black as the colours. Call it St.North or Northkilda or whatever the indigenous tribes name for the area is.

Also if you combine the current North and saints team it'd be a better team as you cut all of the plebs running around for them making them shit.

Agreed, Put Norf, Dogs and Saints into the VFL so the 10k of die hard supporters can still support their side.

Their casual supporters will start following somone else.

Bring the the Tassie team in make it 16 teams, getting close to elite national competition.
