WC have come out strong regarding Rioli, will they be asking for the Amon pick?

If they lose Amon and bring Rioli in, are they any better off?

Some Port supporters seem to think that they'll only have to part with a 3rd round pick for him 🤣🤣🤣

They're definitely not better off, even though I've never rated Amon all that highly if they essentially trade Amon for Rioli then it's definitely a step backwards.

Please, please let this happen.

Say what you like about Kenny, he is an expert at bluffing Kochie and co.
Kenny and his manager have form when it comes to being able to pull Kochie’s puppet strings and make him dance.

Hopefully they can use this Essendon job to get Kenny another extension.

Ideally Port get a dream draw for the first 6 rounds and go 6-0 beating us, North, Essendon, Suns, Norf and St Kilda.

Kens management gets the media to ramp up the pressure to sign up Ken to a new deal which Kochie obliges.

Port then port against Richmond, Geelong, Melbourne, Brisbane the next 4 rounds.

Amon is loss for them but they desperately need a Rioli type. It will be a good pick up for them but I can imagine they (supporters) would be thinking a token pick with his record. Hopefully WCE don’t make it that simple

Surely he’s not worth that much? I’d imagine a pick in the 30s should get it done .

It's amusing that, in the AFL announcement, despite Rioli admitting it's for the money, they tried to make out it was for family connections!
Second, it's also slyly amusing that WC, while noting that he has requested a trade to Port, have said that they will be trying to secure the best deal for the club. There's a definite implication that they will be talking to the Crows. o_O

No reason to assume we’ll be talking to them back

Rioli’s decision to depart the Eagles struck a cord with former Eagle Xavier Ellis who unleashed on the star forward.

“I’ll tell you what would make you comfortable – getting paid for two years when you’re banned for two years, that would make you pretty comfortable,” Ellis said on Triple M Radio.

“Not having to pay for your QC fees of your cases that you’ve had the last two years, to have them waived. That would make me feel a bit comfortable.

“Rioli, I think you owe West Coast.

“You might get a better deal at Port, but what West Coast’s done for you over the last three years – you’ve played in two victories in the last three years. I think he owes West Coast something.

“Not many players owe football clubs anything – it’s a business deal, it is literally: ‘shake hands, I perform a contract’ – it’s much deeper here.

“Of course was banned for two years, twice tampered with drug samples, pled guilty for drugs in an airport and has freely moved back and forth around WA back home more than any other player on the list the last few years as well.

“I think he owes it to West Coast to stick it out.”

WCE should pay him if he means that much to them

Rioli is enough for the Alberton folk to believe that they will be February Premiers again.

Give them a favorable draw in first part of the season and the Alberton folk will be drinking from their own bathwater.

They finally talking about Mitch Georgiades leaving Port.

He wanted to go last year, Port said no. Interesting no media reported on that.

Dropped a few times this year. WCE should get a bargain there.

From what you hear WC paid 2 years of wages and legal bills while he was banned. Comes back and plays a year and then leaves for a better and significant offer

I think West Coast will target the Amon pick which will probably be 27
